Nodular Fasciitis of the Auricle: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Nodular fasciitis is described as a benign reactive proliferation of myofibroblasts. Due to its rapid-growing nature, a precise clinical diagnosis is difficult and the condition is frequently misdiagnosed as malignant lesions. Case Report: In this study, we present the case of a young woman with an auricular nodular fasciitis as an example of one of the rarest sites of this tumor. The patient underwent an excision of the lesion under general anesthesia. The literature choices for treatment include complete excision, partial excision, or intralesional injection of steroids. Due to its associated local discomfort, and in order to exclude other differential diagnosis, we recommend a complete surgical excision. Conclusion: Auricular nodular fasciitis is a rare lesion. Due to its associated local discomfort, and in order to exclude other differential diagnosis, we recommend a complete surgical excision.

متن کاملIntradermal Nodular Fasciitis: A Case Report
Nodular fasciitis is a reactive myofibroblastic proliferative lesion frequently misdiagnosed as a sarcoma. Most lesions are located in the subcutaneous tissue of the upper extremities. Rarely, intravascular, intradermal, and cranial variants have been described. Intradermal nodular fasciitis, first reported by Goodlad and Fletcher in 1990, may be confused with fibrohistiocytic tumors because of...
متن کاملNodular fasciitis of the zygoma: A case report.
Nodular fasciitis (NF), a benign proliferation of fibroblasts, commonly presents as a solitary, well-circumscribed, rapidly growing soft tissue mass. It is most commonly located in the upper extremities, particularly on the volar aspect of the elbow, and on the chest and trunk. In adults, NF is rarely found in the head and neck region. Although benign, it can often be confused with a more malig...
متن کاملNodular Fasciitis of the Neck Causing Emergency: A Case Report.
Nodular fasciitis is a benign, reactive, tumor-like lesion composed of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts. It typically occurs in the extremities and the trunk. Head and neck localization is 13-20%. As it grows rapidly, clinicians frequently misdiagnose it as an aggressive or a malignant lesion. Some lesions show moderate cellularity, mild cellular atypia, and mitosis histologically causing patholo...
