Lung Changes in Shock
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
In the very beginning stage of the lung changes are Perivascular, capillary wall edema, thickening of the interstitial, lymph and vascular dilatation. In the late stage of the shock the following changes will occuree Microthromboses of the lung capillary, polynulcear infiltration into the interstitial, the existence of polynuclear in the alveoli, proliferation of interstitial mesenchyma, thickening of the alveolar wall, internal alveolar edema, stablishing of hyaline membrane, damaging of surfactant and producing of athelectases. The hypoxia as a result of all these changes would not cured by giving 100% oxygen.

B Y THE CLOSE of World War II, a syndrome of "wet lung" had been identified in which life-threatening respiratory distress unexpectedly interrupted convalescence from hemorrhagic and traumatic shock incurred during combat. During the recent war in Vietnam, as the salvage rate after circulatory collapse on the battlefield increased, the syndrome became even more familiar, but under new eponyms. ...

In refractory hypo tension of doubtful origin, bacterial factors shoul d be suspected and blood cultures taken. Gram-negative organisms accounted for the majority of cases of bacteraemia. Unlike haemorrhagic shock, the blood volume estimated in patients in shock associated with infection was not found to be reduced. In some patients, when vital signs became stabilized, a marked expansion in the...

متن کاملTime course changes of oxidative stress and inflammation in hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury in rats
Objective(s):Therapies with high levels of oxygen are commonly used in the management of critical care. However, prolonged exposure to hyperoxia can cause acute lung injury. Although oxidative stress and inflammation are purported to play an important role in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury, the exact mechanisms are still less known in the hyperoxic acute lung injury (HALI). Materials ...
