چکیده مقاله:

Mahalanobis’ D-square (D2) statistics was applied to assess diversity in the 9 genotypes collectedof semi-arid region of India (7 genotypes from Gujarat and Rajasthan for normal toxic and two fromOrissa csmcri’s plantation of non toxic nature. These genotypes were grouped into five. Cluster I andIII had two genotypes, cluster II had three genotypes and cluster VI and V contributed as solitarygermplasms. The genotypes in cluster II had the maximum divergence which was closely followed bycluster III. The maximum and minimum divergence was revealed between clusters I with cluster Vand cluster I and cluster V with cluster IV, respectively. In general, cluster III and IV exhibited highand low mean values, respectively for most of the characters. It has been suggested that for varietalimprovement, hybridization among the genotypes of divergent clusters should be done in order toobtain better results in terms of variability and diversity.

Global Analysis of Gene Expression Profiles in Developing Physic Nut (Jatropha curcas L.) Seeds

BACKGROUND Physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.) is an oilseed plant species with high potential utility as a biofuel. Furthermore, following recent sequencing of its genome and the availability of expressed sequence tag (EST) libraries, it is a valuable model plant for studying carbon assimilation in endosperms of oilseed plants. There have been several transcriptomic analyses of developing physic n...

Biological control of phytophagous arthropods in the physic nut tree Jatropha curcas L. in Brazil

Jatropha curcas has a high biofuel oil content, which could replace polluting fuels, and has great potential for large scale monoculture cultivation in the conventional system. We explored the occurrence, spatial distribution and the functional response of the main phytophagous species of this plant and their natural enemies to explore the potential for conservative biological control. We began...

Genome-Wide Analysis of the NAC Gene Family in Physic Nut (Jatropha curcas L.)

GRAS proteins play vital roles in plant growth and development. Physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.) was found to have a total of 48 GRAS family members (JcGRAS), 15 more than those found in Arabidopsis. The JcGRAS genes were divided into 12 subfamilies or 15 ancient monophyletic lineages based on the phylogenetic analysis of GRAS proteins from both flowering and lower plants. The functions of GRAS ...

Molecular Characterization of Genetic Diversity in Jatropha curcas L

Jatropha curcas L. (Euphorbiaceae) is a small tree with valuable attributes, including that as a commercially important non-edible oilseed that grows naturally in the equatorial Americas and has spread to other tropical countries. J. curcas has been found to be the most suitable tree species for production of biodiesel as it can be grown as a quick yielding plant even in problem soils and adver...
