Effective Materia Medica on Infertility From Hakim Mo’men’s View

Introduction: Hakim Mo’men Tonekabani is one of the most famous physicians in the history of herbal pharmacology in Iran. He wrote a comprehensive book of single and compound drugs correcting the book Ekhtiarat Badiˈei (Clear Independencies). This book is a sample of the pharmacology of the Safavid era. Infertility is a complex life crisis that is psychologically threatening, and many studies have compared the psychological consequences of infertility to general mourning ceremonies reactions.  Materials and Methods: This review article is based on library research methods that focus on the Tohfata-al-mo’menin. In this study, the effective materia medica infertility treatment has been investigated. Results: We found 396 materia medica, and each of them had a direct and/or indirect effect on infertility.  Conclusions: This result can be used as a choice for clinical researches. If they were effective, they could be used in treatment.
