Characteristics of Real Ethical Conflicts
نویسنده
چکیده مقاله:
Mentioning the background of ethical disagreement and the two parties’ evidences of its being real or visionary, this paper deals with a conceptual analysis of restrictions and signs in a case of real ethical conflict. It has shown that the solution of the problem lies in the fact that whether moral ought to may be reduced to its elementary conceptual components or not. Returning “ought to” into “reason”, one can support the reasonability of duties, capability of evaluation, and measurability. “Inevitability of an ethical violation”, “not abolishing state” of any of the two obligations by the other, “existence of the contradiction” and “ethical residue” have been introduced as important restrictions and particular signs of a real conflict.

Surgical missions to developing countries: Ethical conflicts.
Each year scores of American physicians and nurses travel overseas, usually at their own expense, aiming to improve the lot of desperate patients in developing countries. Our journals are filled with images of smiling children who have benefited from these gifts of care. Still, practicing medicine, and especially surgery, in a sporadic fashion in distant lands can lead to poor outcomes. It does...
متن کاملIDEESE Module 2.3a Ethical Conflicts Between Nations
While many people think of an individualism-communalism dichotomy, it is better to think in terms of a range of variation in the way a particular culture balances two human truths: that humans live in groups and draw significant parts of their beliefs and self-definitions from their groups, and that human individuals are also conscious of themselves as separate beings and seeking individual goa...
متن کاملManaged care and ethical conflicts: anything new?
Does managed care represent the death knell for the ethical provision of medical care? Much of the current literature suggests as much. In this essay I argue that the types of ethical conflicts brought on by managed care are, in fact, similar to those long faced by physicians and by other professionals. Managed care presents new, but not fundamentally different, factors to be considered in medi...

BACKGROUND Ethical conflicts, often leading to poor teamwork and moral distress, are very challenging to patients, patients' families, and health care providers. A proactive approach to ethical conflicts may improve patient care outcomes. OBJECTIVES To examine acceptability and feasibility of an ethics screening and early intervention tool for use by nurses caring for critically ill patients....
متن کاملDisclosing conflicts of interest to maintain ethical integrity.
Throughout the year, I receive questions from our Editorial Board members, reviewers, and authors about conflict of interest (COI) and disclosure—what it means, how comprehensive it should be, and how it impacts the validity of a study. Concerns arise on many fronts, from the impartiality (or lack thereof) of authors who submit a study about a product in which they are somehow invested to the r...
متن کاملMedical, ethical and personal dimensions of parent–offspring conflicts
Among the most fundamental and intimate of human reproductive processes are fetal development and infant care. As first described by Haig [1], genetic conflicts centrally mediate such maternal–offspring interactions, and risks for a broad swath of major medical conditions, including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and intrauterine growth restriction, appear to substantially involve dysregula...
