Assessing Thoracic and Lumbar Spinal Curvature Norm: A Systematic Review
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Background: The quality and condition of the human body are of particular importance. This is because the positive and negative changes resulting from this matter could affect other conditions. The skeletal condition of the spine is an essential part of a person's physical condition. Recognizing correct positions has always attracted the attention of sports scientists. The present study reviewed the normative data of the thoracic and lumbar curvature. Methods: We investigated the studies conducted from 1980 to 2016. We studied and used related articles that measured spinal curvatures and investigated invasive and non-invasive methods. The authors reported previous studies without any bias. Results: The obtained results indicated that spine norms are different in research reports. Thus, further investigating this subject is required for recognizing, categorizing, screening, and decreasing the prevalence of spinal deformities. Conclusion: We reviewed the studies on the prevalence of spinal abnormalities and the provision of natural alignment and the extent of injury to the area in athletes. The relevant data suggested a great variation in applying measurement methods, as well as the homogeneity between the studied communities. Therefore, comparing the present results and categorizing studies should be performed with great caution.

P04.50. Acupuncture for lumbar spinal stenosis: a systematic review
Results Of 237 initially located articles, three RCTs conducted in China on 336 patients in total were included. Because of high or uncertain risk of bias (particularly in domains including allocation concealment, patient or assessor blinding and selective outcome reporting) data could not be combined in a meta-analysis. All three RCTs measured how many patients had improved. One compared deep ...

متن کاملManagement of Lumbar Spinal Meningioma: A Systematic Review
Meningiomas are typically benign, slowly growing tumors. Meningiomas of the spine are most commonly intradural, extramedullary lesions and account of 25% – 46% of all spinal cord tumors in adults (Peker et al., 2005). Approximately 80% of spinal meningiomas occur in the thoracic spine, followed in frequency by cervical and lumbar lesions (Helseth et al., 1989; Levy et al., 1982; Roux et al., 19...
متن کاملA Rare Intramedullary Epidermoid Cyst of the Thoracic Spinal Cord: Case Report and Review of Literature
Epidermoid cyst in the spinal cord is a rare condition. It constitutes of only 0.6-1.1% of all spinal tumors. When they occur, the typical location is in the subdural, extramedullary space of the lumbo-sacral region. We report a forty-two -year-old female who presented with left extremity radicular pain and myelopathy. MRI of the thoracic spine, illustrated a focal fusiform enlargement of the tho...

BACKGROUND The prevalence of chronic low back pain and related disability is rapidly increasing as are the myriad treatments, including epidural injections. Even though epidural injections are one of the most commonly performed procedures in managing low back and lower extremity pain, starting in 1901 with local anesthetic alone, conflicting recommendations have been provided, despite the exten...
