A Solution Model for Predicting Asphaltene Precipitation
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
Formation of asphaltene deposition during oil production, processing and synthesis is known as a fundamental problem of petroleum reservoir worldwide. Asphaltene is a petroleum fraction that can lead to increasing the operating costs in these industries. Variations in operational pressure, temperature and fluid composition are generally the significant cause of asphaltene precipitation. In this study, a regular solution model with liquid-liquid equilibrium criteria between asphaltene-rich phase and solvent-rich phase (maltene phase) is presented in order to calculate asphaltene precipitation. As a result, to achieve this objective, the Flory-Huggins (F-H) theory is applied and the definition of the interaction parameter in the traditional form of F-H model is modified. In this work, an empirical correlation is adapted using regular solution theory to predict the solubility parameters and eventually the DE (Differential Evolution) optimization strategy is applied to calculate optimum values of the justifiable parameters in the model. The results of the developed model are finally compared with the existing asphaltene precipitation data in various solvent ratios from the literature and it is shown that they are in acceptable agreement with the experimental data. Hence, the proposed model is capable of good prediction of asphaltene precipitation in a widespread range of the solvent ratios.

A Heuristic Model for Predicting Bankruptcy
Bankruptcy prediction is one of the major business classification problems. The main purpose of this study is to investigate Kohonen self-organizing feature map in term of performance accuracy in the area of bankruptcy prediction. A sample of 108 firms listed in Tehran Stock Exchange is used for the study. Our results confirm that Kohonen network is a robust model for predicting bankruptcy in ...
متن کاملAsphaltene Precipitation in Crude Oils: Theory and Experiments
The precipitation of asphaltenes in two Mexican crude oils was measured using a combination of high-pressure isothermal expansion and atmospheric titration with nalkanes. Experiments were carried out from the liveand tank-oil type of samples of the same crude oils. For the oils investigated, compositional data, precipitation phase diagrams, and bubble point pressures are reported. A theoretical...
متن کاملThe Scott-Magat Polymer Theory for Determining Onset of Precipitation of Dissolved Asphaltene in the Solvent + Precipitant Solution
The Scott-Magat polymer theory, which assumes that polymers have heterogeneous structure and takes into account the polydispersity in the molecular weight of polymers, is a method to model asphaltene precipitation conditions. The traditional Scott-Magat polymer theory based models assume that the precipitated phase consists of asphaltene only. In the present work, we introduce a model based on ...

A pre®iously described molecular-thermodynamic framework, based on colloid theory, is used to correlate experimental asphaltene-precipitation data at high-temperature and pressure conditions. In this framework, asphaltenes and resins are represented by pseudopure components, and all other components in a crude oil are presented by a continuous medium that affects ®an der Waals attractions among...
