Three cases of pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma diagnosis: cases report
Authors
Abstract:
Background: Malignant pleural effusion is common in patients with advanced malignant tumor. The aim of this study is to analyze the characteristics of pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma, pleural effusion under medical thoracoscopy and the diagnostic value of interventional thoracoscopy-guided biopsy, and to improve the understanding of pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma. Materials and Methods: 3 cases with pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma in our hospital were reported. The clinical characteristics and performs were retrospectively analyzed. In addition, a complete resection of tumor nodules was conducted by applying interventional electric knife and cryotechnique with thoracoscopy. Results: Three cases were all male and presented as dyspnea. By thoracoscopy testing, main lesions showed different size and amount nodules, and pleural thickening and congestion. Tumor tissues had abundant blood supplying and were crisp. Bleeding was easily caused in forcep biopsy, while complete resection of nodules could be achieved by an electric knife, and a larger number of samples were obtained. Conclusion: To our knowledge, pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma and formation of pleural effusion are rarely in clinic, most of whom are in male and presented as dyspnea. Medical thoracoscopy can directly displaying thoracic lesions and biopsy of adequate tissue through interventional techniques, which is important in the diagnosis pleural metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma.

Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma to the Humerus Bone: A Report of Two Cases
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is an aggressive malignancy which can metastasize to the bone. Long bones or the small bones of the limbs could be rarely the destinations for metastatic RCCs. We report two cases of metastatic RCC to the humerus bone with the initial presentation of pathological fracture. The pathologists must be aware of metastatic RCC to the arm and consider it in the differential ...

Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare hematodermic myeloid malignancy that is known to be derived from plasmacytoid dendritic cells which are characterized by expression of CD4, CD56, and more specific markers such as CD123. Here, the authors present three cases of BPDCN diagnosed in the past two years and address different available diagnostic modalities such as morpho...
full textClear Cell Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma: A Report of 15 Cases Including Three Cases of Concurrent Other-Type Renal Cell Carcinomas
BACKGROUND Clear cell papillary renal cell carcinoma (CCPRCC) is a recently established subtype of renal epithelial tumor. The aim of this study was to identify the diagnostic criteria of CCPRCC with an emphasis on immunohistochemical studies, and to report three cases with concurrent other-type renal cell carcinoma (RCC). METHODS A total of 515 RCC patients that consecutively underwent surgi...
full textSolitary Metastasis of Clear Renal Cell Carcinoma to Thyroid Gland: Three reported cases with review of the literature.
Metastasis to the head and neck and more specifically to the thyroid gland from distant primary tumors is less common in comparison to the local regional metastasis of squamous cell carcinomas of the upper aero-digestive tract. Preoperative diagnosis of these cases can be difficult. The authors present three cases with distant solitary metastases of clear renal cell carcinoma to the thyroid gla...

Premenopausal onset is rare and the present study described two cases of ovarian clear cell tumors in young women. Case Presentation: The patients presented with pelvic mass which was confirmed by sonography and laparotomy and final diagnosis was ...
full textParathyroid carcinoma as a challenging diagnosis: report of three cases.
Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare malignancy with an indolent but progressive course. This rare tumour is often difficult to diagnose preoperatively, thus limiting the efficacy of surgery. As long-term survival is largely dependent on the extent of the primary surgical resection, it is of great importance to consider PC in the differential diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism. We herein report t...
