Abstract:

Objective: Much attention is paid to angiogenesis due to its mutual role in health and disease. Therefore, the effect of various chemical and physical agents on inhibition of this process has been recently studied. This study was conducted to investigate the synergic effect of glycyrrhizic acid and electromagnetic field on angiogenesis. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 44 Ross fertilized chicken eggs were randomly divided into four groups, one control and three experimental. Control group was kept with dimethyl sulfoxide on the eighth day, experimental group 1 treated with 200 gauss, 50 Hz electromagnetic field on the 10th day, experimental group 2 treated with 1 mg/ml glycyrrhizic acid on the eighth day, and experimental group 3 simultaneously treated with glycyrrhizic acid on the eighth day and electromagnetic field on the 10th day. On the 12th day, the images of chorioallantoic membrane samples were prepared using photostreomicroscope and the number and length of vessels were measured. Results: The mean number of vessels in the experimental groups 1 and 3 (29.31±3.60 and 27.43±4.61, respectively) was not significantly different from that in the control group (29.11±4.76) (p>0.05). The length of vessels in the experimental groups 1 and 3 (52.35±3.25 mm and 54.94±4.70 mm, respectively) decreased significantly (p

Evaluating the Effects of Enrofloxacin on Angiogenesis Using the Chick Embryo Chorioallantoic Membrane Model

Objective- Because little information was available in the literature about the angiogenic property of enrofloxacin, this investigation was undertaken to evaluate this aspect using an in vivomodel. Design- Experimental study. Animals- Twenty fertile chicken eggs (Ross 308) with the average egg-weight of 55 ± 0.4 g were rand...

Stimulation of angiogenesis by adenosine on the chick chorioallantoic membrane.

The effect of adenosine on the vascular density of the chick chorioallantoic membrane was studied. Elvax polymer pellets containing 0.2-3.0 mg of adenosine were placed on the chorioallantoic membrane of 10-day embryos. Control pellets containing mannitol were placed at least 1 cm away. After 4 days the membrane was formalin-fixed and removed. A thin plastic coverslip, inscribed with concentric ...

مقایسه اثر آنتی‌آنژیوژنیک عصاره تام آبی ریشه شیرین‌بیان و گلیسیریزیک اسید در پرده کوریوآلانتوئیک جوجه

Background: Angiogenesis, is an important process in physiological and pathological conditions as tumor growth and metastasis. Therefore, combinations that lead to inhibit angiogenesis may develop as an anti-cancer drug. In the present research, the anti-angiogenesis effect of Licorice root extract and Glycyrrhizic acid in Chorioallantoic membrane is investigated. Methods: In this experimental...

The effect of ultrasound on angiogenesis: an in vivo study using the chick chorioallantoic membrane.

PURPOSE Ultrasound therapy induces clinical healing of irradiated avascular mandibular bone and fractures. In vitro ultrasound in tissue culture has been shown to stimulate bone formation synthesis and bone remodeling factors and to stimulate osteoblast proliferation. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of short-wave (1-MHz) and long-wave (45-kHz) ultrasound on...
