Abstract:

In this paper, we studied maximal monotonicity of type FPV for sum of two maximal monotone operators of type FPV and the obtained results improve and complete the corresponding results of this filed.

The sum of a maximal monotone operator of type (FPV) and a maximal monotone operator with full domain is maximal monotone

The most important open problem in Monotone Operator Theory concerns the maximal monotonicity of the sum of two maximal monotone operators provided that Rockafellar’s constraint qualification holds. In this paper, we prove the maximal monotonicity of A+B provided that A and B are maximal monotone operators such that domA ∩ int domB ̸= ∅, A+NdomB is of type (FPV), and domA∩domB ⊆ domB. The proof ...

Sum theorems for maximally monotone operators of type (FPV)

The most important open problem in Monotone Operator Theory concerns the maximal monotonicity of the sum of two maximally monotone operators provided that the classical Rockafellar’s constraint qualification holds. In this paper, we establish the maximal monotonicity of A+ B provided that A and B are maximally monotone operators such that star(domA)∩ int domB 6= ∅, and A is of type (FPV). We sh...

Partial regularization of the sum of two maximal monotone operators

— Tofind a zero of the sum of two maximal monotone operators, we analyze a twosteps algorithm where the problem is first approximated by a regularized one and the regularization parameter is then reduced to converge to a solution of the original problem. We give a formai proof of the convergence which, in that case, is not ergodic. The main resuit is a generalization of one given by Brezis [4] ...

On the generalized parallel sum of two maximal monotone operators of Gossez type (D)

The generalized parallel sum of two monotone operators via a linear continuous mapping is defined as the inverse of the sum of the inverse of one of the operators and with inverse of the composition of the second one with the linear continuous mapping. In this article, by assuming that the operators are maximal monotone of Gossez type (D), we provide sufficient conditions of both interiorityand...

Closedness type regularity conditions for surjectivity results involving the sum of two maximal monotone operators

In this note we provide regularity conditions of closedness type which guarantee some surjectivity results concerning the sum of two maximal monotone operators by using representative functions. The first regularity condition we give guarantees the surjectivity of the monotone operator S(· + p) + T (·), where p ∈ X and S and T are maximal monotone operators on the reflexive Banach space X . The...
