THE POMERON IN A MODIFIED MU LTIPERIPHERAL MODEL

Abstract:

There have been many attempts [I-31 to produce correct pomeron by putting the nparticle production amplitude expht, in the unitarity integral equation. It was found that for reasonable values of h one could not get the right picture of the slope of the pomeron as a function of energy S4 .W e show that theinterference termsin the unitary equation does not improve the slope either. However, a modified multiperipheral model predicts a correct pomerpn

Hard Pomeron model

The inclusive production of several jets is studied in the framework of the hard pomeron model. The average jet momenta are found to be strongly ordered and growing towards the central c.m. rapidity, as expected. Strong positive correlations are found for pairs of jets neighbouring in rapidity, both in the forward-backward and forwardforward directions. ∗Permanent address: Dep. High-Energy Phys...

A characteristic fractal plot of pomeron model

The dependence of the fractal behaviors of the pomeron induced system in deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering upon the diffractive kinematic variables is found not to sensitive to the distinct parameterization of the pomeron flux factor and the structure function. A feasible experimental test of the phenomenological pomeron model in DESY ep collider HERA is proposed.

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Comments on the Erhan-Schlein model of damping the pomeron flux at small x-pomeron

We explore the theoretical and experimental consequences of a model proposed by Samim Erhan and Peter Schlein for unitarizing the diffractive amplitude by damping the pomeron flux at small x-pomeron and conclude that the model is unphysical and contradicts well established experimental data.
