Abstract:

The parallel systems are special important types of coherent structures and have many applications in various areas. In this paper we consider a two-exchangeable-component parallel system for the Generalized Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern (Generalized FGM) distribution. We study the reliability properties of the residual lifetime of the system under the condition that both components of the system are operating at time t, and obtain an explicit expression for the mean residual lifetime (MRL) for such system. The asymptotic behavior of the proposed MRL function of the system is also investigated when the exchangeable lifetimes of components have a Generalized FGM bivariate exponential. Finally, we present some results for the Kendall’s Tau correlation coefficient of Generalized FGM bivariate copula.

On Moments of the Concomitants of Classic Record Values and Nonparametric Upper Bounds for the Mean under the Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern Model

In a sequence of random variables, record values are observations that exceed or fall below the current extreme value. Now consider a sequence of pairwise random variables  {(Xi,Yi), i>=1}, when the experimenter is interested in studying just thesequence of records of the first component, the second component associated with a record value of the first one is termed the concomitant of that ...

Concomitants of Case-II of Generalized Order Statistics from Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern Distributions

In this paper, the concomitants of case-II of generalized order statistics from Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern (FGM) distributions and recurrence relations between their moments are studied. Further, we provide the minimum variance linear unbiased estimator of the location and scale parameters of the concomitants of ordinary order statistics from some distributions.

Shannon Information for Concomitants of Generalized Order Statistics in Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern(FGM)Family

In the present paper Shannon’s entropy for concomitants of generalized order statistics in FGM family is obtained. Application of this result is given for order statistics, record values, k-record values, and progressive type II censored order statistics. Also, we show that the Kullback-Leibler distance among the concomitants of generalized order statistics is distributionfree.

New generalized Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern distributions and concomitants of order statistics

We consider a generalization of the bivariate Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern (FGM) distribution by introducing additional parameters. For the generalized FGM distribution, the admissible range of the association parameter allowing positive quadrant dependence property is shown. Distributional properties of concomitants for this generalized FGM distribution are studied. Recurrence relations between m...

On the reliability of complex systems with three dependent components per element

‎The complex system containing n elements‎, ‎each having three dependent components‎, ‎is described‎. ‎The reliability function of such systems is investigated using a trivariate binomial model‎. ‎In addition‎, ‎the mean residual life function of a complex system with intact components at time t is derived‎. ‎The results are simplified for a t...
