The importance of using microbial feed additives in breeding ornamental fish
Authors
Abstract:
In line with the growth of the aquaculture industry, the reproduction and cultivation of ornamental fish has developed significantly due to its high economic importance. One of the most important challenges in the aquaculture industry is the improvement of formulated diets to improve the growth efficiency, nutrition and immunity of fish. In recent years, many efforts have been made in connection with nutritional strategies and optimization of feed compositions in different fish species. The use of microbial feed additives (probiotic, prebiotic and synbiotic) through different mechanisms can lead to increased growth, survival, immunity, improvement of reproductive functions and maintenance of water quality in breeding environments. Therefore, according to the successful results of using microbial feed additives in different species of fishes, the use of these additives is considered as an important strategy for better production of aquatic products in breeding systems and helps the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry.

The importance of betaine and some attractive substances as fish feed additives
Betaine, L-alanine, L-glutamic acid, L-arginine, glycine and inosine are known as dietary feeding attractants for many fish species. However, these additives also have very important physiological functions within the animal body. For example, betaine given singly or mixed with other attractants has been found to have a positive effect on fish growth and survival rate. Betaine is also a very im...
full textThe importance of paying attention to the nutritional requirements of ornamental fish
It is important to know the nutritional requirements of ornamental fish to achieve better growth and production performance. In recent years, nutritional information has been obtained about some aquarium species. Also, in some cases, the diet information of these fish can be extracted from the results obtained from farmed fish. Having the right dietary formula for the complementary needs ...
full textStudy on induced breeding in ornamental fish, poecilia sphenops
An attempt has been made to determine the effect of Natrum muriaticum, a homeopathic medicine on the weight gain, fecundity, excretion and tissue protein level in Poecilia sphenops (white molly), an ornamental viviparous fish. Natrum muriaticum of 30 centesimal potency of dilution of 0.025% medium was used. The amount of protein was determined in the ovary, liver and muscle of the control and t...
full textA review of the role and importance of essential fatty acids in the feeding of ornamental fish
Ornamental fish farming, like other aquaculture productions, it depends on the quality and quantity of egg production, hatching, fecundity and survival of the larvae. In general, every step of aquaculture, followed by nutritional goals. Most of these studies are in the stages of larval growth. Because the highest costs are imposed on aquaculture and the most critical biological period of orname...
full textInvestigation of biological characteristics and breeding potentials of some species of surgeonfish (Family: Acanthuridae) inhabiting the Persian Gulf for exploitation in the ornamental fish breeding industry
The coral reefs of the Persian Gulf are among the richest coral reserves systems in the world. These valuable habitats have a remarkable diversity of aquatic species, especially fish. One of the important ecological groups living in coral reefs of the Persian Gulf is surgeonfish (Family: Acanthuridae), which have been considered by researchers in many studies. These fish can be introduced as br...
