Abstract:

۲۲ کشور که وابسته به منطقه مدیترانه شرقی سازمان جهانی بهداشت (Who) می باشند، گستره وسیعی از شرایط اقتصادی، اجتماعی، بوم شناختی، بهداشت و تغذیه را ارائه می دهند که در یک انتهای آن کشورهایی مثل کشورهای خلیج فارس قرار دارند که از در آمد سرانه بسیار بالایی برخوردارند، در حالی که در انتهای دیگر آن کشورهایی قرار دارند که از طرف سازمان ملل متحد (UN) به عنوان کم توسعه یافته ترین کشورهای دنیا (LDC) طبقه بندی شده اند مانند جیبوتی، سومالی و سودان. تراکم جمعیت در بعضی کشورها مثل بحرین و کویت، زیاد و در برخی مثل عربستان سعودی و سودان، کم است. به همین ترتیب، روش های زندگی، شرایط بهداشتی و توسعه اقتصادی، اجتماعی در این کشورها بسیار متنوع و گوناگون است. مشکلات تغذیه ای در بزرگسالان، از عواض ناشی از پرخوری تا عوارض محرومیت از موادغذایی متفاوت است...
