The efficacy of life skill training on mother,s general health and children,s oppositional difiant disorder symptoms

Abstract:

Introduction: Oppositional difiant disorder  is common in children and affected by child-mother relationship. This study aims at investigating the the efficacy of life skill training on mother,s general health and children,s oppositional difiant disorder symptoms. Method This is a quasi-experimental study with a control group conducted on 6-8 years children with oppositional difiant disorder with clinical interview in DSM-5, whoes parents refer to psychotherapy centers  in Tabriz, 2017. From the above-mentioned population, 40 mothers of this children have been selected through available non-random sampling and divired randomly (by the list) experiment and control groups. The data-gathering tools were a demographic questionnaire, Mental Healht and Child Symptpm Inventory in pre-test and post-test. Life skill intervention was performed based on the results of the pre-test in the intervention group in 8 sessions of 45 minutes. Result: The result revealed that mother trainig make better mental health, body symptoms, anxiety , soial mal-function and student,s oppositional difiant disorder symptoms (p=0/001), but there was no diffrences between two groups in depression. Conclusion: This finding confirmed that parenting trainig  make reduce child and parent problems.it seems that mother-child relationship have important role in emergence,continuing and treatment  of child behavior problem. Therefore, the researchers recommend life skill traning methods on child and parent problems.
