The Effects of Aerobic Exercise in Sprague Dawley pregnant Rats on vascular BCL-2,BAX AND eNOS Gene Expression in adult male offspring

Authors

Abstract:

Background: One of the most growing diseases is the onset of atherosclerosis which can be started from a fetal age. As a result, the intrauterine environment plays a role at risk of spreading this disease. Changes in vascular function considered to be as an indicator for vascular disease. Effective factors on vascular function are enzyme eNOS and apoptotic regulator factors included BCL-2 and BAX. The aim of present study was estimating the effect of aerobic training during pregnancy on vascular gene expression of BCL-2, BAX, and eNOS in Sprague dawley rats offspring Materials and Methods: 10 females Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups of exercise during pregnancy (T) (221 ± 9.9) and sedentary (C) (223.8 ± 8). The aerobic exercise training  was performed immediately after observation of the vaginal plaque  for 21 days and 5 sessions per week with moderate intensity. About 2 to 3 days before delivery, their training program was terminated. Femoral artery samples were collected at 8 weeks of male offspring age. Data was analyzed with independent t-test for between group comparisons. Results: The results of the study showed that 21 days of aerobic training with moderate intensity during pregnancy increased significantly mRNA of the BCL-2 gene(P=0/004),decreased significantly mRNA of the BAX gene (P = 0.000) , but there was no significant change in mRNA of the eNOS gene (p=0/781). Conclusion: It seems that moderate exercise during pregnancy can reduce dysfunction of vascular in children.

The Compound Effect of Aerobic Exercise and Thyme Supplementation on the PGC-1α Gene Epression in Adult Male Rats

Background: Due to the uncertainty of the impact of thyme supplementation on endurance sport performance, despite its high antioxidant property, this study was conducted on rats to provide a tonic supplement of thyme extract and also to investigate its effect on the PGC-1α gene expression. Methods: In this experimental study 40 adult male Wistar rats as statistical samples were randomly classi...

The aerobic maternal exercise increases PDK4 gene expression in slow and fast twitch muscles of rat male offspring.

Recent studies indicate that environment can modify skeletal muscle gene expression and transcriptional factors in offspring genes. Therefore, exercising can lead to changes in the gene expression of the future generations. One of the important metabolic factors is PDK4, which is known as the main factor in Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex (PDC). This study examined the effects of maternal exerci...

Effects of voluntary exercise on synaptic plasticity and gene expression in the dentate gyrus of adult male Sprague-Dawley rats in vivo.

We have previously shown that voluntary exercise produces enhanced neurogenesis and long-term potentiation (LTP) in the dentate gyrus (DG) of mice in vitro. In the present experiments we show that rats given access to a running wheel (Runners) exhibit significantly more short-term potentiation and LTP with theta-patterned conditioning stimulation in vivo than do age-matched litter mates (Contro...

Effects of Aerobic Training on mTORC1 Gene Expression in Male Wistar Rats with Type 2 Diabetes

Objective: Although type 2 diabetes is a multifactorial illness, one of the major risk factors is the prevalence of obesity. In this context, recent genetic studies on diabetics or pre-diabetics, have shown that some of  the newly-known genes make the conditions for type 2 diabetes even in the absence of obesity. One of these genes is called mTORC1, which plays an important role in the synt...

The Effect of Moderate Intensity Running Exercise on Femoral Bone Microarchitectures in Ovariectomized Sprague-Dawley Rats

Background & Objective: One of the most serious health problems is osteoporosis and it is mandatory to find preventive methods to confront this difficulty. Non-pharmacological methods are in priority due to less side effects. This study investigated the effect of treadmill running exercise on bone microarchitectures in female osteoporotic rats induced by ovariectomy. Materials & Methods: 30 rat...
