Abstract:

Making use of a generalized Green’s function technique and Landauer formalism, the temperature depended current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of C60 molecule, sandwiched between two metallic electrodes are numerically investigated. In addition, the influence of the electron-phonon coupling strength on the electronic properties of the molecule is studied. The I-V characteristics of the molecule are determined in two temperature limits, T=3K and T=300K. Our results indicate that the molecule primarily acts as a semiconductor in lower temperatures but moves toward becoming an ohmic-like conductor when the temperature increased to the higher magnitudes.

Temperature Dependence of I-V Characteristics of Au/n-Si Schottky Barrier Diode

The current-voltage characteristics of Au/n-Si Schottky barrier diodes were measured in a wide temperature range of 70-310 K. The forward current-voltage characteristics have been analyzed on the basis of standard thermionic emission (TE) theory and assuming Gaussian distribution (single) of barrier height. Findings are investigated to explore TFE-mechanism with high value of characteristic ene...

I-V characteristics of high-temperature superconductors with columnar defects.

The vortex glass transition in the presence of columnar defects is studied by Monte Carlo simulations of a vortex loop model, suggested by the analogy to the T = 0 superconductor-insulator transition for dirty bosons in (2+1)D. From finite-size scaling analysis of the I-V characteristic we find two dynamical exponents describing the non-equilibrium behavior. We obtain z⊥ = 6±0.5 and z‖ = 4 ± 0....

I-V Characteristics of a Molecular Wire of Polyaniline (Emeraldine Base)

In this study, Polyaniline molecule (emeraldine base) is modeled as a molecular wire and the effects of the metal/molecule coupling strength and the molecule length on the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics are numerically investigated. Using a tight-binding Hamiltonian model, the methods based on Non-equilibrium Green’s function theory, Landauer formalism and Newns-Anderson model, our calcu...

An Analytic Model for Kink Effect in I-V Characteristics of Single Electron Transistors

In this paper, we have investigated the effects of asymmetry in the source and drain capacitance of metallic island single electron transistors. By comparing the source and drain Fermi levels, in the ground and source referenced biasing configurations, with the island’s discrete charging energy levels for various gate voltages, we have derived a set of closed form equations for the device thres...

On the Modification of Temperature Characteristics. I

The temperature characteristics for frequency of pulsation in isolated cloacal ends of Holothuria tubulosa are micro = 20,400 from 10 to 20 degrees , 8,000 from 20 to 30 degrees . The critical temperatures 10 degrees , 20 degrees , 30 degrees are related to thermal conditions in the environment. In sea water with doubled NaCl content micro = 8,000 from 10 to 30 degrees . This is consistent with...

Time dependence of colour-temperature characteristics of liquid-crystalline thermoindicators

2014 The temperature and time dependencies of the wavelength of selective light scattering of cholesteric liquid crystals dispersed in various polymers are studied. The stability of liquid crystals is found to be determined by the gas permeability of polymers. The injection of the antioxidants into the polymer increases essentially the lifetime of the capsulated liquid crystals. REVUE DE PHYSIQ...
