Abstract:

Organotin compounds have been found different application in industries, agricultures and pharmacological sciences via their various physical and biological specifications. One of the most important applications of these compounds, especially tributyltin TBT is in marine antifouling paints and coatings. Concern about the accumulation of tributyltin compounds on fish and shellfish and the adverse effect on marine life, the application of these compounds has been severely forbidden from January 1st, 2008. In this article, statistical survey was used to investigate effective parameters of tributyltin chloride bioaccumulation with food in one of the native fish species of Persian Gulf, Scat fish Scatophagus argus, within a time period of 21 days at marine simulated aquarium bioassay. The Design Expert software was applied for statistical analysis of effects of biocide concentration in food and exposure time on compound concentration variations in fish tissues.

Investigation of Accumulation of Lead, Cadmium and Copper in Edible Tissue Alborz in Hydrothermal Fish

Introduction: Bioaccumulation Capacity of Heavy metals in aquatic bodies can do a serious threat to food security and public health. Therefore, in this study, the amount of lead, cadmium and copper in edible tissues of hydrothermal fish in Alborz province was determined in 2017. Materials and Methods: Twenty-one carp fish of three species were randomly selected from the Mahmoudi fishery, which ...

Photocatalytic Degradation of Tributyltin Chloride in Water

The growth of aquatic organisms on vessel hulls creates roughness which gives rise to reduced vessel speed per unit energy consumption. A 10 (μm) increase of the average vessel hull can cause an increase in fuel consumption of about 0.3-1 %. Tributyltin (TBT) based antifouling paints began to use in the early 1970 s. Tributyltins contaminate marine environment and cause problems for marine envi...
