Abstract:

Synthesis of ZnO nanostructures films by a co-precipitation followed by the deposition processed onto a glass substrate by spin-coating technique was carried out. The effect of annealing temperatures (from 250 to 325 °C for 30 min) on the structural and optical properties of the ZnO films have been investigated. The structural studies reveal that ZnO films are polycrystalline with hexagonal wurtzite structure. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) data show a better crystallinity at (101) crystal plane for the annealed films at 300 °C than the other ZnO films. The average grain size increases (from 31 to 36 nm) with an increase in annealing temperatures. The band gap energy is approximately 3.40 eV for the as-prepared films and varies from 3.25 to 3.18 eV with an increase in annealing temperatures. The photoluminescence (PL) results show a weak ultraviolet and relatively broad visible emissions respect to various defect structures in the ZnO films, in which the interstitial and vacancy oxygen are the main factors influencing the electronic properties in the whole ZnO films.

The effect of Ga-doping on the structural and optical properties of ZnO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis

In this research, zinc oxide thin films with gallium impurity have been deposited using the spray pyrolysis technique. The structural and optical properties of these films are investigated as a function of gallium doping concentrations. The ZnO and ZnO:Ga  films grown at a substrate temperature of 350 ºC with gallium doping concentrations from 1.0 to 5.0.%. The XRD analysis indicated that ZnO f...

Structural and Optical Characterization of ZnO-Graphene Nanocomposite Quantum Dots

In this research, zinc oxide quantum dots and graphene nanocomposites were synthesized via two different methods; In the first (direct) method, ZnO-graphene Nanocomposites were made mixing the synthesized zinc oxide and graphene. In the second (indirect) method, zinc nitrate, graphene, and sodium hydroxide were used to made ZnO-graphene Nanocomposites. XRD, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy analyses ...

Electrical, optical and structural properties of ZnO nanorods thin films deposited over ZnO substrates

ZnO thin films with grain morphology were obtained over glass substrates using the sol–gel method; these films were used as substrates to grow ZnO nanorods using chemical bath deposition (CBD) technique. The transmittance percentage of two films was over 85% and the electrical resistivity decreased when ZnO nanorods were grown over the ZnO thin film with grain morphology. A laser is incident at...

Influence of Co and Fe substitution on optical and structural properties of zinc oxide thin films

Zn0.97TM0.03O (TM = Co, Fe) thin films were deposited onto glass substrates by the sol–gel method and the effects of transition metals substitution on structural and optical properties of ZnO films were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the films have wurtzite structure. Optical transmittance of the films was recorded in the range of 200 -800 nm wave length and the band...

Structural and Optical Properties of Pure &Aluminium Doped ZnO Thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel

Thin film of zinc oxide was prepared by spin coating on pyrex glass using zinc acetate dehydrate, 2-methoxyethanol and monoethanolamine (MEA) as a precursor, solvent and stabilizer respectively. Also, Aluminium-doped thin film of ZnO was prepared by using AlCl3. Deposited thin films were investigated for structural and optical properties using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV–VIS-NIR spectrophoto...
