Abstract:

The present paper investigates a detailed study on the optical properties of PVA/Ag nanocomposite films. In this interest , PVA/Ag nanocomposites with different ways of study ,the first prepared film by reduction 0.2M of Ag+ ions in 2 gm of PVA and study the transmission , absorption coefficient, refractive index, extinction coefficient, reflection, real & imaginary part of the dielectric constant and the energy gap he results proved that the best values of the absorbency was within the range(350-500 )nm, as well as to both we noticed an increase of the refractive index , the extinction coefficient and reflectivity with increasing energy, the second step of research was by using Density Functional Theory (DFT) ,It was calculate spectrum absorption , intensity and energy gap for the same compound PVA/Ag, The cooperation of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) nanofibers with silver (Ag) nanoparticles (mean width 8nm) has been displayed utilizing thickness useful hypothesis (DFT) computations. The physical adsorption of PVA through the hydroxyl gathering, to the Ag,

Optical Properties of (PVA-PAA-Ag) Nanocomposites

In this paper, the effect of silver nanoparticles on optical properties of (PVA-PAA) nanocomposites has been investigated. The silver nanoparticles were added to the polymers (polyvinyl alcohol 80 wt.% and poly-acrylic acid 20 wr.%) with weight percentages of (0, 2, 4, 6) wt.%. The optical properties of nanocomposites were measured in the wavelength range (200-800) nm. The experimental results ...

Enhancing Properties of Polyvinyl Alcohol Film using Sorghum Starch Nanocrystals

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanocomposite films with sorghum starch nanocrystals (SSN) were prepared by incorporating various concentrations of SSN in PVA. SSN was isolated using acid hydrolysis of sorghum starch. The morphological studies of SSN using atomic force microscopy (AFM) revealed that the particle size varied from 65 nm to 68 nm. The mechanical properties of PVA-SSN nanocomposite films i...

Novel Kefiran-Polyvinyl Alcohol Composite Film: Physical, Mechanical and Rheological Properties

Background and Objectives: Kefiran (Kef) is a water-soluble polysaccharide that can form transparent film however, it is brittle. Therefore, in order to improve the mechanical properties of kefiran film, a mixture with other polymers can be offered. The expansion of mixed systems can propose kefiran and polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) as a new composite film. Materials and Methods: Solutions of 20 gr...

Improvement Structural and Optical Properties of ZnO/ PVA Nanocomposites

The structural and optical properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) doped with different concentrations (0, 0.15, 0.5, 1, 2, 2.5, and 3 wt %) of ZnO nanoparticles were studied. ZnO nanoparticles were prepared by the solgel methode, and nanocomposite films were prepared using the solution casting methode. Nanocomposites films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transformer Infrar...
