Some Results on Convexity and Concavity of Multivariate Copulas

Authors

Abstract:

This paper provides some results on different types of convexity and concavity in the class of multivariate copulas. We also study their properties and provide several examples to illustrate our results.

Different Types of Convexity and Concavity for Copulas

We present different notions of convexity and concavity for copulas and we study the relationships among them.

Some Results on a Generalized Archimedean Family of Copulas

Durante et al. (2007) introduced a class of bivariate copulas depending on two generators which generalizes some known families such as the Archimedean copulas. In this paper we provide some result on properties of this family when the generators are certain univariate survival functions.

Some results on quasipolyhedral convexity

Abstract The objective of this paper is to analyse under what well-known operations the class of quasipolyhedral convex functions, which can be regarded as an extension of that of polyhedral convex functions, is closed. The operations that will be considered are those that preserve polyhedral convexity, such that the image and the inverse image under linear transformations, right scalar multipl...

Some New Parametric Families of Multivariate Copulas

Recently, Rodríguez-Lallena and´Ubeda-Flores [8] have introduced a class of bivariate copulas which generalizes some known families such as the Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern distributions. In this paper we present multivariate generalizations of this class studying symmetry and dependence concepts, measuring the dependence among the components of each class, and providing several examples.

global results on some nonlinear partial differential equations for direct and inverse problems

On the Concavity of Multivariate Probability Distribution Functions on the Concavity of Multivariate Probability Distribution Functions

We prove that the multivariate standard normal probability distribution function is concave for large argument values. The method of proof allows for the derivation of similar statements for other types of multivariate probability distribution functions too. The result has important application, e.g., in probabilistic constrained stochastic programming problems.
