Isometries between Groups of Invertible Elements in Banach Algebras

We show that if T is an isometry (as metric spaces) from an open subgroup of the group of the invertible elements in a unital semisimple commutative Banach algebra onto an open subgroup of the group of the invertible elements in a unital Banach algebra, then T (1)T is an isometrical group isomorphism. In particular, T (1)T is extended to an isometrical real algebra isomorphism from A onto B.

some properties of fuzzy hilbert spaces and norm of operators

in this thesis, at first we investigate the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces and study the set of all compact operators on these spaces. then we introduce the notions of fuzzy boundedness and investigate a new norm operators and the relationship between continuity and boundedness. and, we show that the space of all fuzzy bounded operators is complete. finally, we define...

amenability of banach algebras

chapters 1 and 2 establish the basic theory of amenability of topological groups and amenability of banach algebras. also we prove that. if g is a topological group, then r (wluc (g)) (resp. r (luc (g))) if and only if there exists a mean m on wluc (g) (resp. luc (g)) such that for every wluc (g) (resp. every luc (g)) and every element d of a dense subset d od g, m (r)m (f) holds. chapter 3 inv...

Ideal Amenability of Banach Algebras and Some Hereditary Properties

Let A be a Banach algebra. A is called ideally amenable if for every closed ideal I of A, the first cohomology group of A with coefficients in I* is trivial. We investigate the closed ideals I for which H1 (A,I* )={0}, whenever A is weakly amenable or a biflat Banach algebra. Also we give some hereditary properties of ideal amenability.

Banach Function Algebras with Dense Invertible Group

In [9], Dawson and the second author asked whether or not a Banach function algebra with dense invertible group can have a proper Shilov boundary. We give an example of a uniform algebra showing that this can happen, and investigate the properties of such algebras. We make some remarks on the topological stable rank of commutative, unital Banach algebras. In particular, we prove that tsr(A) ≥ t...
