Soil Erosion Model Implication (Case Stady: Minab Basin)
Authors
Abstract:
Soil erosion is an inevitable phenomenon that additive erosion caused Soil degradation. Additive Soil erosion is one of the major obstacles to achieve the development of agriculture and natural resources. Thus, knowledge of the status and trends of soil erosion and sediment production in the watersheds is one of the most important tools for planning and decision-making. Models are the most popular tools for erosion and sediment processes. On the one hand, models as the best of decision support tools are important and on the one hand the entry of a large number of patterns, choice of best model or models can be challenging. Since a lot of models of erosion and sedimentation have been established in recent years, the need for an appropriate framework for choosing such models is essential. But unfortunately there is no such a framework. The purpose of this study was to identify and examine patterns of some common models used in the world was made. A designed flowchart regarding 1) the goal of study, 2) accessibility of data, 3) special scale of study and 4) implication of models was proposed to choose the best model. This flowchart implemented Minab Watershed in Hormozgan province. The results showed that none of the models were consistent with the objectives and requirements of the basin.

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil erosion is a process in which soil is separated from its original bed and transported to another location with the help of a moving agent [17]. Soil erosion is one of the serious problems in the watersheds of Iran and can be considered as one of the most important barriers to sustainable agriculture and natural resources development [6]. Soil erosio...

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Land use includes all types of land uses to meet different human needs. In other words, land use refers to the type of human use of land, and this type of use is related to the value of the land and (its) natural characteristics. To understand and identify, land use changes using satellite data to provide a broad and integrated view of an area, reproduci...

Rapid land use change due to intensive agricultural practices in the Ethiopian Highlands, results in increasing rates of soil erosion. This manifested in significant impacts downstream by reducing the storage capacity of reservoirs (e.g., Roseires, Sennar), and high desilting costs of irrigation canals. Therefore, this paper aims to provide a better understanding of the process at basin scale. ...
