Significant Characteristics of Multi Carrier Energy Networks for Integration of Plug-In Electric Vehicles to Electric Distribution Network
Authors
Abstract:
One of the big concerns of big cities is facing with the increase of fossil fuel vehicles in the roads. The cars intensify greenhouse gas emission in civic centers. One approach to reduce the emission is replacing the cars by Plug-In Electric Vehicles (PEVs). In spite of reducing the emission, PEVs have some adverse effect on electric distribution networks. Technical challenges such as load and loss factors are some of the considerable problems. In this paper, in order to overcome the problems, the effect of integration of different energy networks is introduced. Two scenarios are proposed. In first scenario, a parking lot is just supplied by just electric distribution network. In second scenario, the parking lot is supplied by electricity and gas networks. Finally, the significant effect of multi carrier energy networks to supply the vehicles is confirmed. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

full textOptimal Intelligent Control of Plug-in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles in Smart Electric Grids
In this paper, Plug-in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (PFCEV) is considered with dual power sources including Fuel Cell (FC) and battery Energy Storage. In order to respond to a transient power demand, usually supercapacitor energy storage device is combined with fuel cell to create a hybrid system with high energy density of fuel cell and the high power density of battery. In order to simulate the...

Multi-Objective Scheduling of Electric Vehicles in Smart Distribution Network
Abstract: Due to the energy savings and environmental protection they provide, plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) are increasing in number quickly. Rapid development of PEVs brings new opportunities and challenges to the electricity distribution network’s dispatching. A high number of uncoordinated charging PEVs has significant negative impacts on the secure and economic operation of a distributi...
full textEnergy Management Strategies for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) differ from hybrid vehicles (HEVs) with their ability to use off-board electricity generation to recharge their energy storage systems. In addition to possessing charge-sustaining HEV operation capability, PHEVs use the stored electrical energy during a charge-depleting operating period to displace a significant amount of petroleum consumption. The parti...
full textRoute Optimized Energy Management of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles have the potential to significantly reduce the oil dependence within the transportation sector. However, there will always be some trips that exceed the electric driving range, meaning that both electric energy and fuel must be used. For such trips the fuel economy is intimately connected with the energy management system and its ability to schedule the use of t...
