Signal processing approaches as novel tools for the clustering of N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidases

Abstract:
Nowadays, the clustering of proteins and enzymes in particular, are one of the most popular topics in bioinformatics. Increasing number of chitinase genes from different organisms and their sequences have beenidentified. So far, various mathematical algorithms for the clustering of chitinase genes have been used butmost of them seem to be confusing and sometimes insufficient. In the present study, as a first step, differentamino acids participating in panoply of chitinases, as a model protein, obtained from the NCBI GenBank, were digitized. Digitized data were normalized to the signal energy. Normalized data decomposed usingmother wavelet bior 5.5 to approximation (a1) and details (d1), at the first level. Corresponded coefficientshave been obtained and cross correlation between normalized, a1 and d1 coefficients of amino acidsequences were calculated. Maximum correlation was selected as similarity index and corresponded cladogramtrees were made. The results of this study showed that more optimal and reliable cladogram treecan be produced and better discrimination observed from d1 coefficients compared to normalizedsequences and opposed to a1 coefficients. Using suggested approach, the cladogram tree made from d1coefficients not only had more validity but also the drawback of the classic cladogram tree has been improved.

Application of Signal Processing Tools for Fault Diagnosis in Induction Motors-A Review-Part II
The use of efficient signal processing tools (SPTs) to extract proper indices for the fault detection in induction motors (IMs) is the essential part of any fault recognition procedure. The 2nd part of this two-part paper is, in turn, divided into two parts. Part two covers the signal processing techniques which can be applied to non-stationary conditions. In this paper, all utilized SPTs for n...

The synthesis of analogues of the potent N-acetylhexosaminidase inhibitor, PUGNAc, are described. These compounds were assayed against a set of biologically important N-acetyl-d-glucosaminidases and were found to vary in both potency and selectivity.

Background Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most prevalent endocrinopathy among women and the most common underlying diagnosis for anovulatory infertility. The role of insulin-resistance (IR) and hyperinsulinemia in pathophysiology and clinical manifestations of the syndrome depicts the importance of evaluation of the efficacy of insulin reducing medications. N acetyl cysteine (NAC) i...

Chemoenzymatic synthesis of N-acetyl-d-neuraminic acid from N-acetyl-d-glucosamine using the spore surface-displayed N-acetyl-d-neuraminic acid aldolase at a high concentration (53.9 g liter(-1)) was achieved in this study. Thus, displaying a target enzyme on the surface of spores might be an alternative for integration of biocatalytic conversion into chemical synthesis.

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel
to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...
