Abstract:

Abstract A 2.5 year old girl is presented with both hands constriction bands leading to distal amputations and the rare deformity of shoulder duplication in the right side accompanying constriction skin marking over the affected shoulder. The cephalomedial scapula articulated with the clavicle and the caudolateral scapula articulated with humeral head. The most important physical finding which could explain the pathophysiology of this rare anomaly, was constriction band marking over the right shoulder. Shoulder range of motion was limited but still functional and no surgical intervention was required for the scapular duplication.

Congenital Circumferential Constriction Band of the Abdomen: A Case Report

We report a case of congenital constriction band of abdomen associated with limb pseudarthrosis. It heals spontaneously with supportive treatment though surgery may be needed in some cases.

Congenital Constriction Band Syndrome and

The cause of Congenital Constriction Band Syndrome has been in debate over 300 years. There are two main theories as to what could be its true cause. The two main theories discussed are the intrinsic and extrinsic theories. This condition may cause inhibiting or life-threatening conditions as well as secondary deformities. To correct or help add function to these conditions there are surgical o...

Amniotic Band Syndrome with the Involvement of Trunk: A Case Report

Amniotic Band Syndrome is a sporadic congenital disorder that may result in constriction bands, amputation and multiple craniofacial, visceral and body wall defects. Its incidence is estimated at approximately 1:5000 to 1:10,000 pregnancies. Band formation most frequently affects the distal segments, including the hand. We report a case of constriction amniotic bands involving the trunk.
