Shape and Type of Uterine Contractions at Premature Detachment: Uterine Behavior Abruption Placenta
author
Abstract:
Although premature separation of normally implanted placenta is considered the most serious complication of pregnancy, knowledge of uterine behaviour during this condition is meager, on the basis of electronic recording of intra-uterine pressure two type of contraction pattern has been identified. In type I uterine tonus has values below 30mmHg with a frequency of 4-9 contractions per 10 minutes. In type II uterine tonus has a value of 30 mm Hg or more and a higher frequency. Cases falling in type I react to the administration of oxytocin, while those in type II do not. So uterine tonus and contraction frequency appear to be a good indicator of the functional status of uterine mmcle in abruptic placenta and its reactivity to oxytocic agents.

The Shape of Uterine Contractions and Labor Progress in the Spontaneous Active Labor
Background: Dystocia is the most common indication of primary cesarean section. The most common cause of dystocia is uterine dysfunction. In prolonged labor, more attention is usually paid to the fetus and pelvis rather than to the role of uterine contractions in a delivery. Therefore, we decided to determine the relationship between the labor progress and uterine contractions shapes. Methods: I...
full textThe role of interleukin on uterine endometrium, placenta and embryonic
Introduction: The polypeptide cytokine interleukin-1 is found in all body tissues and plays its role in inflammatory changes. Interleukin-1 is known as alarm cytokine in defense mechanism, particularly immunological responses. The interleukin receptor is present in different tissues and in endometrial epithelium and its antagonist will be increased during preimplantation period, therefore it ...
full textPhysiology and electrical activity of uterine contractions.
Presently, there is no effective treatment for preterm labor. The most obvious reason for this anomaly is that there is no objective manner to evaluate the progression of pregnancy through steps leading to labor, either at term or preterm. Several techniques have been adopted to monitor labor, and/or to diagnose labor, but they are either subjective or indirect, and they do not provide an accur...

full textEfficacy of Magnesium and Alpha Lipoic Acid Supplementation in Reducing Premature Uterine Contractions
Objective: Premature uterine contractions represent one of the major symptoms related to preterm labor. So far, primary prevention of preterm labor is based on the early identification of symptoms and on pharmacological treatments which are prone of several secondary effects. In this double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, the efficacy of a supplementation of magnesium and alpha-l...
full textFenoterol depot and fenoterol in premature uterine contractions--a multicentric double-blind comparative study.
In a double-blind randomized study, the effect of a single dose of a fenoterol preparation with delayed release of active substance (designated as fenoterol depot) was compared with a fenoterol product with undelayed release of active substance (designated as fenoterol) in two groups respectively comprising 66 and 65 female patients with premature uterine contractions. The fenoterol depot was a...
