Abstract:

The present paper, titled “optimizing the time of preparation, taking into account the timing of   repair and maintenance using non-linear modeling”, has been implemented with the aim of designing and presenting a mathematical model to get the best sequence of operations leading to minimum the total time of production. The main research question is related to the reduction of time and production costs following the implementation of the presented model. The method of research’s data and information collection, have been survey and study and library resources, referring to the documentations of repair, maintenance and production segments in the company and expert managers in the areas of planning, engineering production and … Following, the model taking into account the constraints of cost and time, as well as the limitations of the production system is presented. LINGO software is used to solve the models and model outputs, will provide the local solutions that would show the best sequence. And finally it can be extended the model to other industrial units with only smart alternations and present the best operational sequence related to multifunctional machines.

Selfish Scheduling with Setup Times

We study multiprocessor scheduling games with setup times on identical machines. Given a set of scheduling policies (coordination mechanism) on the machines, each out of n players chooses a machine to assign his owned job to, so as to minimize his individual completion time. Each job has a processing length and is of a certain type. Same-type jobs incur a setup overhead to the machine they are ...

Throughput Optimization for Pipeline Workflow Scheduling with Setup Times

In this paper, we tackle pipeline workflow applications that are executed on a distributed platform with setup times. In such applications, several computation stages are interconnected as a linear application graph, and each stage holds a buffer of limited size where intermediate results are stored and a processor setup time occurs when passing from one stage to another. The considered stage/p...

A New Multi-objective Job Shop Scheduling with Setup Times Using a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm

This paper  presents a new multi objective job shop scheduling with sequence-dependent setup times. The objectives are to minimize the makespan and sum of the earliness and tardiness of jobs in a time window. A mixed integer programming model is developed for the given problem that belongs to NP-hard class. In this case, traditional approaches cannot reach to an optimal solution in a reasonable...

Virtual manufacturing cells scheduling considering lotstreaming and sequence dependent setup times

In this paper, a new mathematical model for the problem of job scheduling in virtual manufacturing cells (VMC) is presented to minimizing the completion time of all jobs. Sequence dependent setup times of machines is considered and lot-streaming is possible. In Virtual manufacturing cells, each job has a different processing path and there is a set of machines for processing each operation. The...

Split scheduling with uniform setup times

We study a scheduling problem in which jobs may be split into parts, where the parts of a split job may be processed simultaneously on more than one machine. Each part of a job requires a setup time, however, on the machine where the job part is processed. During setup, a machine cannot process or set up any other job. We concentrate on the basic case in which setup times are job-, machineand s...

Using Genetic Algorithm to Robust Multi Objective Optimization of Maintenance Scheduling Considering Engineering Insurance

Efficient and on-time maintenance plays a crucial role inreducing cost and increasing the market share of an industrial unit. Preventivemaintenance is a broad term that encompasses a set of activitiesaimed at improving the overall reliability and availability of a systembefore machinery breakdown. The previous studies have addressed thescheduling of preventive maintenance. These studies have co...
