Sensor Fault Detection for a class of Uncertain Nonlinear Systems Using Sliding Mode Observers
Authors
Abstract:
This paper deals with the issues of sensor fault detection for a class of Lipschitz uncertain nonlinear system. By definition coordinate transformation matrix for system states and output system, at first the original system divided into two subsystems. the first subsystem includes uncertainties but without any sensor faults and the second subsystem has sensor faults but is free of uncertainties. Then sensor faults in second subsystem are formed as actuator faults. For the aim of fault detection (FD) two sliding mode observer is designed for two subsystems. The necessary matrices and parameters to design observers are obtained by solving linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem. Stability condition of observer’s dynamics are reviewed based on Lyapunov approach. Finally simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness proposed approach.

Fault Diagnosis in Nonlinear Systems Using Interconnected Sliding Mode Observers
This paper presents a new technique for fault diagnosis and estimation of unknown inputs in a class of nonlinear systems. The novelty of the approach is governed by the use of two interconnected sliding mode observers. The first of the two observers is used for fault diagnosis and the second is used for the reconstruction of unknown inputs. The two observers exchange their respective reconstruc...
full textIndirect Adaptive Interval Type-2 Fuzzy PI Sliding Mode Control for a Class of Uncertain Nonlinear Systems
Controller design remains an elusive and challenging problem foruncertain nonlinear dynamics. Interval type-2 fuzzy logic systems (IT2FLS) incomparison with type-1 fuzzy logic systems claim to effectively handle systemuncertainties especially in the presence of disturbances and noises, but lack aformal mechanism to guarantee performance. In contrast, adaptive sliding modecontrol (ASMC) provides...
full textRobust Fault Reconstruction for LPV Systems Using Sliding Mode Observers
This paper presents a robust FDI scheme using a sliding mode observer based on an LPV system, with fault reconstruction capability. Both actuator and sensor fault reconstruction schemes are considered which possess robustness against a certain class of uncertainty and corrupted measurements. For actuator fault reconstruction, the input distribution matrix (associated with the actuators being mo...

A new technique for fault diagnosis and estimation of unknown inputs in a class of nonlinear systems is presented in this paper. The novelty of the approach is based on utilization of a network of two interconnected sliding mode observers, the first is used for fault diagnosis and the second is used for estimation of unknown inputs. The two observers exchange information about their respective ...
full textNonlinear sliding mode high-gain observers for fault estimation
A robust high gain observer for state and unknown inputs/faults estimations for a special class of nonlinear systems is developed in this article. Ensuring the observability of the faults/unknown inputs with respect to the outputs, the faults can be estimated from the sliding surface. Under a Lipschitz condition for the nonlinear part, the high gain observers are designed under some regularity ...
full textfinite time adaptive optimal integral sliding mode control for a class of uncertain second order nonlinear systems with input nonlinearity
in this paper, a new robust controller based on geometric homogeneity and adaptive integral sliding mode is proposed for a class of second order systems. the upper bound of the system disturbances is not required. fully unknown parameters have been considered in the described model and its finite–time convergence to zero equilibrium point is proved. moreover, the controller is developed in the ...
