Sensitive Voltammetric Determination of Acetaminophen at Poly(4-vinyl pyridine)/Graphene Composite Modified Electrode
Authors
Abstract:
This study demonstrates the use of a selective and sensitive voltammetric sensor for determination of acetaminophen (AC). This was performed by modifying a glassy carbon electrode with composite film of poly(4-vinylpyridine) and graphene sheet (P4VP/GR-GCE). The redox peak currents of AC increased significantly at P4VP/GR-GCE. The result was achieved by the synergistic effect of combined electron mediator property of P4VP along with remarkable physical properties of GR which improved the kinetics of the catalytic oxidation of AC. The P4VP/GR-GCE exhibited excellent sensitivity, good reproducibilityand long-termstability for measuring AC with detection limits of 3.2 nM in the linear range of 0.04-300 µM. The novel developed sensor was not interfered by physiologically common interference, viz. ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA). The P4VP/GR-GCE was also successfully applied for detection of AC in tablets and urine samples, so it is reasonable to expect its broad use as AC sensor.

full textSynergistic Signal Amplification Based on Ionic Liquid-BaTiO3 Nanoparticle Carbon Paste Electrode for Sensitive Voltammetric Determination of Acetaminophen
Monitoring the acetaminophen in biological samples and also in pharmaceutical formulations is important due to the concerns of public health care and drug safety. In this work a carbon paste electrode modified with BaTiO3 nanoparticle (BTO NPs) and room-temperature ionic liquid (IL) (n-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluoro phosphate) was fabricated. The direct electro-oxidation behavior of aceta...
full textDetermination of Acetaminophen Via TiO2/MWCNT Modified Electrode
Electrochemical behaviour of acetaminophen at the multi wall carbon nanotubes/titanium dioxide (MWCNT/TiO2) composite film modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) via solvent casting method was studied. It is shown that the MWCNT/TiO2/GCE exhibits remarkable improvement in analytical response as compared to other electrodes. Comparing the responses of the MWCNT/TiO2/GCE with that obtained at the...
full textVoltammetric determination of cysteine at a carbon paste electrode modified with Cu(II)-salen complex
The electrochemical behavior of a modified carbon paste electrode (MCPE) with N,N′ethylenbis(salicylideneiminato)copper(II) complex ([Cu(II)-Salen]) was investigated as a newsensor for cystein. The Britton-Robinson buffer with pH 5, 10% modifier in electrode, potentialscanning rate of 20 mVs-1 and puls height of 50 mV were used as the optimum condition for thedetermination of cysteine using car...
full textCharacterization of Carbon Nanotubes-Gold Nanoparticles Composite Film Modified Electrode and Voltammetric Determination of Mefenamic Acid
full textCathodic stripping voltammetric determination of ultratrace gold(iii) at a bulk modified epoxy–graphite tube composite electrode in flow systems
An epoxy-impregnated graphite tube composite electrode bulk modified with 2-mercaptobenzoxazole was fabricated and employed for the determination of gold. A differential-pulse cathodic stripping procedure in conjunction with either continuous flow or flow injection was developed. Both open and closed circuit accumulation of Au(iii) were investigated. The addition of Rhodamine 6G to the accumula...
