Abstract:

Titanium dioxide (TiO2)nanoparticles have been frequently employed in the environmental treatment and purification purposes as a cheap and highly efficient photocatalyst. A photocatalyst can facilitate the breakdown and removal of a variety of environmental pollutants at room temperature. TiO2 photocatalyst is the best candidatebecause of its strong oxidized ability, non-toxicity and longthermal photostability. The TiO2 is also importantand need deep studies because it can be used as self-cleaningand anti-fogging glass in future. In this paper, TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized by liquid phase method. The samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses after heat treatments. The XRD results show the sharp picks after annealing process. The TEM results reveal that the size of nanoparticles is in the range of 20-40 nm in diameter. Raman scattering pattern of the TiO2 nanoparticles confirm the TEM analysis and indicate the anatase phase

Preparation of Nano-TiO2-Coated SiO2 Microsphere Composite Material and Evaluation of Its Self-Cleaning Property

In order to improve the dispersion of nano-TiO₂ particles and enhance its self-cleaning properties, including photocatalytic degradation of pollutants and surface hydrophilicity, we prepared nano-TiO₂-coated SiO₂ microsphere composite self-cleaning materials (SiO₂-TiO₂) by co-grinding SiO₂ microspheres and TiO₂ soliquid and calcining the ground product. The structure, morphology, and self-clean...

Durable Self-Cleaning Coatings for Architectural Surfaces by Incorporation of TiO2 Nano-Particles into Hydroxyapatite Films

To prevent soiling of marble exposed outdoors, the use of TiO₂ nano-particles has been proposed in the literature by two main routes, both raising durability issues: (i) direct application to marble surface, with the risk of particle leaching by rainfall; (ii) particle incorporation into inorganic or organic coatings, with the risk of organic coating degradation catalyzed by TiO₂ photoactivity....

Nano Sized Ni/TiO2 @ NaX Zeolite with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

Nickel doped TiO2nano particles (1% w/w) were prepared and immobilized on NaX zeolite and after characterization by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy used as photo catalyts for degradation of orange G. The X-ray diffraction patterns show that the supported TiO2 are crystallized in anatase form and the intensity of the zeolite peaks decreases with the incre...

Photocatalytic and Self-Cleaning Properties of Ag-Doped TiO2

Commercially available TiO2 of anatase structure produced in the Chemical Factory Police S.A. was modified by doping Ag from AgNO3 solution via photodeposition method. The obtained amount of deposited Ag on TiO2 was in the range of 0.11 to 0.98 mass %. Deposition of Ag on TiO2 resulted in the retarding of the recombination reaction and formation of the higher amount of OH radicals on the photoc...

Photocatalytic self-cleaning properties of lanthanum and silver co-doped TiO2 nanocomposite on polymeric fibers

Titania, single-doped and lanthanum-silver co-doped titania nanocomposite were coated on cellulosic and polyacrylonitrile fibers via sol–gel method. The prepared samples were evaluated using x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photolumines...
