Abstract:

Regardless of the view of those philosophers like Plantinga who see no need in any proof for the existence of God, scholars have presented four views on Quranic way of proving the existence of God including demonstration, awakening, implication and clear demonstration. Describing and criticizing the views in detail, the author has viewed differently. God has regarded the level of the addressee`s awareness; for those of high degree of knowledge and action, His existence is known to be beyond proof, while for the others, He has introduced demonstrative way.

Synthesis of Induction Orderings for Existence Proofs

In the eld of program synthesis inductive existence proofs are used to compute algorithmic deenitions for the skolem functions under consideration. While in general the recursion orderings of the given function deenitions form the induction ordering this approach often fail for existence proofs. In many cases a completely new induction ordering has to be invented to prove an existence formula. ...

New Existence Proofs for 2-Nets

We describe a new technique for proving the existence of small 2-nets for hypergraphs satisfying certain simple conditions. The technique is particularly useful for proving o( 1 2 log 1 2 ) upper bounds which is not possible using the standard VC dimension theory. We apply the technique to several geometric hypergraphs and obtain simple proofs for the existence of O( 1 2 ) size 2-nets for them....

Computational existence proofs for spherical t-designs

Spherical t-designs provide quadrature rules for the sphere which are exact for polynomials up to degree t. In this paper, we propose a computational algorithm based on interval arithmetic which, for given t, upon successful completion will have proved the existence of a tdesign with (t + 1)2 nodes and will have computed narrow interval enclosures which are known to contain these nodes with mat...

Presenting Machine-Found Proofs

This paper outlines an implemented system named PROVERB that transforms and abstracts machine-found proofs to natural deduction style proofs at an adequate level of abstraction and then verbalizes them in natural language. The abstracted proofs, originally employed only as an intermediate representation, also prove to be useful for proof planning and proving by analogy.

critical examination of sadra's primacy of existence proofs

this article considers all the mulla sadra’s proofs of primacy of existence (asalat al-wujud) found in all his works‚ and concludes that sadra has two approaches in his arguments: (1) to prove the primacy of existence through negation of original attributes from quiddity (mahiyyah), (2) to refute the primacy of quiddity through indirect proof. at the end‚ we conclude that the first approach and...
