Abstract:
“The state of being plain” is one of the features of the Holy Quran, taken as indicative of Quran’s expressiveness and clearness regarding its intentions. However, one of the aspects of Quranic miracles is its expressive miracle based on which verses have been revealed according to suitability and appropriateness of situation in an explicit and succinct form. In order to have a desirable understanding of a book it is necessary to be familiar with its linguistic and expressive features. Accordingly, to use teachings of the holy Quran, being familiar with linguistic features of Quran regarding expressing educations is necessarily needed so that an appropriate response could be provided for the ambiguities which might be created in some cases related to modes of expressions in Quran. The paper intends to investigate succinct nature of Quran which is one of its expressive features and also to analyze the reason of its occurrence. Although the common expressive method in Quran verses is given explicitly, because of some reasons such as observing politeness, examining people, providing inviolability for Quran, subjects with no importance, conveying more grace to servants, and proving the miracle of Quran allusions, references and succinctness are used in some cases.
