Abstract:

In this work some quantitative structure activity relationship models were developed for prediction of three bioenvironmental parameters of 28 volatile organic compounds, which are used in assessing the behavior of pollutants in soil. These parameters are; half-life, non dimensional effective degradation rate constant and effective Péclet number in two type of soil. The most effective descriptors which were selected by stepwise multiple linear regression method reflect some information about structure and polarity of molecules. Linear and non-linear models were established by multiple linear regressions and least-squares support vector machine respectively. The statistical parameters of developed models demonstrated that both of them are satisfactory. However the models established with least-squares support vector machine are more stable and reliable than multiple linear regressions model.

synthesis of 3-aryl-2h-benzo[b]-1,4-oxazines in [omim]bf4 and reduction of organic compounds in methylimidazolium formate

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Increased number of volatile organic compounds over malignant glottic lesions.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Electronic noses can identify diseases, including head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by the fingerprint of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled air. However, whether these VOCs originated from the malignant lesion itself remains unclear. The objective was to test for the presence and properties of VOCs directly over the vocal folds in malignant and benign ...

Catalytic Oxidation of Volatile Organic Compounds and Malodorous Organic Compounds

This thesis describes efforts made on the development of an existing catalytic incinerator. The development work, called process characterization, consists of four general parts. These are the development of measurement methodology, the studying of construction materials, the selection of suitable catalysts and the testing of the effects of process operation conditions. The two application area...

Measurement of Volatile Organic Compounds

To answer critical questions regarding the interactions between green plants and air quality, two three-year projects are underway to investigate emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from selected plant species. These biogenic VOC (BVOC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) can react in the lower atmosphere in the presence of sunlight to form ozone and secondary particulate matter, the principa...
