(Q,r) Stochastic Demand Inventory Model With Exact Number of Cycles

Abstract:

In most stochastic inventory models, such as continuous review models and periodic review models, it has been assumed that the stockout period during a cycle is small enough to be neglected so that the average number of cycles per year can be approximated as D/Q, where D is the average annual demand and Q is the order quantity. This assumption makes the problem more tactable, but it should not be adopted when the beck order and lost sales penalty costs are relatively small. In this paper, considering a continuous review inventory model, we relax the above assumption and we explicitly take into account the stockout period when computing the expected cycle length. Further, we consider the effect of using exact number of cycles rather than using approximate of cycles in a continuous review inventory model.&#10&#10Keywords: Inventory control, Stochastic demand, Continuous review, Inventory cycle&#10

Dynamic Inventory Planning with Unknown Costs and Stochastic Demand

Generally ordering policies are done by two methods, including fix order quantity (FOQ) and fix order period (FOP). These methods are static and either the quantity of ordering or the procedure of ordering is fixing in throughout time horizon. In real environments, demand is varying in any period and may be considered as uncertainty. When demand is variable in any period, the traditional and st...

INVENTORY MODEL WITH DEMAND AS TYPE-2 FUZZY NUMBER: A FUZZY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION APPROACH

An inventory model is formulated with type-2 fuzzy parameters under trade credit policy and solved by using Generalized Hukuhara derivative approach. Representing demand parameter of each expert's opinion is a membership function of type-1 and thus, this membership function again becomes fuzzy. The final opinion of all experts is expressed by a type-2 fuzzy variable. For this present problem, t...

Introducing a New Formulation for the Warehouse Inventory Management Systems: with Two Stochastic Demand Patterns

This paper presents a new formulation for warehouse inventory management in a stochastic situation. The primary source of this formulation is derived from FP model, which has been proposed by Fletcher and Ponnambalam for reservoir management. The new proposed mathematical model is based on the first and the second moments of storage as a stochastic variable. Using this model, the expected value...
