Abstract:

شکاف لب و کام یکی از شایعترین نقایص آناتومیکی هنگام تولد می باشد، که در حدود ۴۰ - ۳۵ درصد از ناهنجاریهای صورت را تشکیل می دهد. و میزان شیوع شکاف لب و کام بدون وجود سندرم خاصی، ۱ به ۷۰۰ تولد زنده می باشد و شیوع آن بر حسب نژاد، منطقه جغرافیایی، جنس جنین و وضعیت اجتماعی - اقتصادی متفاوت است. شیوع شکاف لب همراه یا بدون شکاف کام در پسرها و شکاف کام به تنهایی در دخترها زیادتر بوده و کلا در کشورهای آسیایی بیشتر و در سیاهپوستان کمتر می باشد.(۵) و (۸). شکاف لب و کام به دنبال نقص تکاملی در دوره ارگانوژنز جنینی، در ارتباط با عوامل مختلف ژنتیکی و محیطی بروز می نماید، حدد ۳۰ ژن در بروز انواع مختلف شکاف لب و کام دخالت دارند.

In assessing 143 infants with cleft lip and palate, we found feeding problems to vary with the patients' anatomic lesion. Effective feeding techniques were identified by first assessing the infant's ability to generate negative intraoral pressure and to move the tongue against the nipple and then by matching these deficits to appropriate feeding devices.
