Preparation of Tc-sn-colloid kit for liver-spleen imaging [Persian]
Authors
Abstract:
When Tc-99m-sulfur colloid was introduced as an ideal liver-spleen agent in nuclear medicine, many other types of colloids followed by different manufacturers. They hoped to find a suitable colloidal agent, contrary to sulfur colloid, which is easy to use, and less sensitive to the low contamination of aluminum ions. One of this type of colloid agents, is Tc-99-tin-colloid which is prepared by reduction of pertechnetate ion with stannous ion. In such process the Tc-99m-Tc04 is reduced by stannous ions and in the next step combines with the same stannous ions to form insoluble complex Tc(OH)4, Sn(OH)2. The percipitate, is then converted to colloidal form by using suitable stabilizing agent. To make a suitable colloidal form, the quality and quantity of stabilizing agent play an important role in forming optimum diameters needed for maximum uptake in liver and spleen. In our investigation, PVP-360 and PVP-40t with different molecular weights were used as stabilizing agents. By mixing the above two chemical stabilizers with proper ratios, we obtained a reasonable viscosity necessary for preparing colloids of optimum size particles.

full textPreparation of human serum albumin microspheres (MSA) kit for lung imaging in Iran [Persian]
Radiolabeled Microspheres of human serum albumin (MSA) is of great importance in the analysis of regional lung perfusion. Preparation of MSA kit has been installed in our Division recently is carried out in two stages: 1. Production of albumin sphere particles with suitable sizes by using the spinning disk technique. 2. Formulation of MSA as a radiopharmacutical kit. So it can be labelled...
full textQuantitation of liver and spleen uptake of (99m)Tc-phytate colloid using SPECT: detection of liver cirrhosis.
UNLABELLED The purpose of this study was to assess the diagnostic performance of quantitative SPECT of (99m)Tc-phytate colloid in detecting liver cirrhosis and to assess the correlation between the SPECT results and the severity of disease. METHODS Quantitative SPECT was performed on 60 patients (38 men, 22 women; mean age, 62.4 y) with liver cirrhosis and 36 control patients (21 men, 15 wome...

full textFreeze-dried cold kit for preparation of 99mtc-ciprofloxacin as an infection imaging agent
Introduction: Radiolabeled antibiotics are being used for the specific diagnosis of infection by exploiting their specific binding properties to the bacterial components, thereby making it possible to differentiate infection from sterile lesions. The aim of this work was to prepare and evaluate a freeze-dried kit of ciprofloxacin designed for the labeling with ...
full textPreparation and labeling of HMPAO kit in Iran [Persian]
In recent years, several radiopharmaceuticals have been developed for imaging regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) such as 75Se labelled PIPSE and MOSE, ²º¹TI labelled DDC and 99mTc labelled HMPAO. HMPAO with two asymmetric carbon atoms (At the 3 and 9 positions), produces d,1 and meso isomers, only one of which is retained in the brain. Rapid intracellular conversion of 99mTc-d,1-HMPAO to...
