Preparation of Carbon Nanotubes by CVD Process over Nanoparticles of Ni-Ce-Zr Mixed Oxides

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were prepared by the catalytic chemical vapor deposition of C2H2 at 550°C in 120 minutes using nanoparticles of Ni-Ce-Zr mixed oxides. The CNTs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The results revealed that CNTs with diameter of about 45 nm are obtained. Utilization of Ni-Ce mixed oxides or NiO2 respectively afforded CNTs with helical and curved morphologies and diameters of about 50 and 90 nm. No CNTs were formed either in the absence of catalyst or exclusion of Ni from Ce-Zr mixed oxides. Details of the catalyst type and its impact on CNTs morphologies will be presented.

Hydrogen storage in carbon nanotubes with Ni nanoparticles by electrochemical

In this paper, the electrochemical hydrogen storage in nanocomposite materials was studied. Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) electrode was prepared by mixing with special composite. The optimum ratio of MWCNTs was estimated 30-70% (w/w) in the composite material. MWCNTs were synthesized by Chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The nanocomposite was homogenized by microwave. Cyclic voltammetry ...

Role of growth temperature in CVD synthesis of Carbon nanotubes from Ni-Co bimetallic catalysts

The effect of temperature variation on the growth of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) using Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition (TCVD) is presented. Nickel and Cobalt (Ni-Co) thin films on Silicon (Si) substrates were used as catalysts in TCVD technique. Acetylene gas was used in CNTs growth process at the controlled temperature ranges from 850-1000 ̊ C. Catalysts and CNTs characterization was carried out ...
