Abstract:

SUMMARY Determination of gestational age have several usages in obstetrics and gynecology. The relation between fetal femur length and gestational age has determined in this research using real time sonography. 1000 iranian pregnant women between 12-40 weeks of gestation with accuratic last menstrual period and with out the history of diabetes lllellitus, hypertension, renal disease and fetal anomalies were examined. They were all singleton. Predicted gestational age values in weeks for specific femur length measurements in millimeter were calculated and reported in the form of table and curve. Fetal femur length was 3-6 millimeter shorter than American Standards in various weeks of gestation which has a significant statistical difference (P < 0/001). In comparing with Japanese too, a significant statistical difference was exist (P < 0/09).

Ultrasonographic fetal scapular length measurement for assessment of gestational age

one of the major goals of antenatal care is estimation of gestational age.the most widely used parameters for evaluation of fetal growth are biparietal diameter (BPD),femoral length (FL) and adbominal circumference (AC).to determine the value of prenatal ultrasonographic scapula measurements for fetal growth and gesattional age a prospective ultrasonographic cross-sectional study was conducted ...

Postnatal Prediction of Gestational Age Using Newborn Fetal Hemoglobin Levels

INTRODUCTION In many parts of the developing world procurement of antenatal gestational age estimates is not possible, challenging provision of appropriate perinatal care. This study aimed to develop a model for postnatal gestational age estimation utilizing measures of the newborn hemoglobin levels and other metabolic analyte data derived from newborn blood spot samples. METHODS We conducted...
