Abstract:

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

Presbyopia and its anatomical and physiological variants.

AIM To study the various ocular anatomical and physiological parameters in presbyopia. MATERIALS AND METHODS We studied the various ocular anatomical and physiological parameters like corneal curvature (keratometry readings: K1 and K2), central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT) and axial length (AL) in 100 presbyopic patients between 35 - 55 years of a...

HMGB1 and its physiological and pathological roles.

HMGB1 has been formerly known for its intracellular function - as the intranuclear non-histone DNA binding protein, which contributes to stabilization of nucleosomes, mediation of DNA bending and is regarded to have an essential position in DNA repair. Lately, its participation in innate and specific immune responses has been revealed. Passively released from necrotic cells or actively produced...

Physiological implications of pair-bond status in greylag geese.

In group-living vertebrates, reliable social allies play a decisive role in dealing with stressors. For example, support by social allies is known to dampen glucocorticoid responses. It remains unknown, however, how social embedding affects the sympatho-adrenergic axis as indicated by heart rate (HR) in non-human animals. We studied the relationships between HR, pair-bond status and distance fr...

Pair designing as practice for enforcing and diffusing design knowledge

Evolving software’s design requires that the members of the team acquire a deep and complete knowledge of the domain, the architectural components, and their integration. Such information is scarcely addressed within the design documentation and it is not trivial to derive it. A strategy for enforcing the consciousness of such hidden aspects of software’s design is needed. One of the expected b...

Code review and cooperative pair programming best practice

We need ways to improve the code quality. Programmers have different level of tenure and experience. Standard and programming languages change and we are forced to re-use legacy code with minimum revision. Programmers develop their habits and can be slow to incorporate new technologies to simplify the code or improve the performance. We rolled out our customized code review and pair programming...
