P-247: To Evaluate The Oxytocin Effect on Maternal-Fetal Circulation during Termination of Pregnancy
Authors
Abstract:
Background: To evaluate the effect of oxytocin on blood circulation of fetus and uterus by Doppler ultrasound. Materials and Methods: Forty six pregnant women were assigned to receive for indication of delivery intravenous oxytocin. Doppler velocitometry before and after administration of oxytocin for umbilical, middle cerebral artery and uterine artery were performed, and Pulsatility index (PI), resistance index (RI) and systolic /diastolic ratio (S/D) were measured for these arteries. Results: There was no difference between PI, RI, and S/D of umbilical, uterine and middle cerebral arteries before and after oxytocin therapy p>0.05. Conclusion: During induction of labor infusion of Oxytocin do not have any effect on uterine -fetus maine arteries circulation.

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation
in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
P-211: Quantitative Changes of Fetal DNA in Maternal Circulation during Pregnancy Based on Detection of SRY Gene in Ovine Species
Background: It is well documented that fetal DNA can cross the placenta and is present in peripheral maternal blood during pregnancy in human. This fetal DNA also named circulating cell free fetal DNA, has emerged as a valuable source for genetic evaluation. Compared with humans, ovine species have a different structure of placental (synepitheliochorial) with no direct contact between the troph...

To the Editor: Govender and Moodley [1] are to be commended for the careful way in which their multidisciplinary team has been assembled and in which it functions in the assessment of fetuses with abnormalities. But Doctors for Life considers that their article does require comment. They write: 'Contrary to the belief that religion plays a major role in end-of-life decision for the unborn baby,...
full textEffect of Aspirin Consumption during Pregnancy on Fetal and Placental Weights and Histomorphometric Changes of the Fetal Stomach in Rats
Background & Objective: Due to the relevant use of aspirin to relieve pain and common symptoms of gastric ulcer and possible malicious effects on fetus, this study investigates the histomorphologic effects of aspirin on the stomach tissue in rat embryos. Materials & Methods: In this experimental study, 30 pregnant female rats were randomly divided into six groups including control group wi...
full textThe Effect of the Timing of Intramuscular Oxytocin Injection on Maternal Bleeding during the Third Stage of Labour
Background and aim: The third stage of labour is one of the most troublesome stages of child delivery. The basic principle of the third stage management is administrating prophylactic uterotonics. However, the time of its administration varies in different hospitals. This study aimed to determine the effect of intramuscular oxytocin injection after emergence of the fetal anterior shoulder or pl...
