Optimal Angle for Solar Panels to Receive Maximum Radiation: Case of Mashhad City
Authors
Abstract:
The solar arrays are one of the most promising renewable energy technologies for providing energy needs . in buildings. For installed solar panels on building roofs, knowing the optimal inclination angle is important in order to obtain the maximum annual or seasonal energy. In fact, the changes in slope angle affect the amount of solar radiation that reaches the surface of the panel. In this study, various models were used to obtain optimal tilt angle and azimuth angle in solar panels installed angle in Mashhad. Using ayzrvtrvpyk isotropic model, the optimal angles for various months, seasons of the year were deterimend. Also, panels’ optimal slope and azimuth angles in Mashhad were calculated and determined using non-isotropic model. In general, the total annual energy achieved by panels equipped with a single axis and dual axis sun tracking system could increase by 16% and 30%, respectively, compared to what achieved by fixed angle solar panels.

Optimization of Tilt Angle for Solar Collector to Receive Maximum Radiation
This article examines the theoretical aspects of choosing a tilt angle for the solar flat-plate collectors used at ten different stations in the world and makes recommendations on how the collected energy can be increased by varying the tilt angle. In this paper, the collector surface is assumed to be facing toward equator. For Indian stations, the calculations are based upon the measured value...

One of the most important parameters in maximal use of radiant energy is the proper deployment of photovoltaic. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum setting and tilt for installing photovoltaic panel in Kashan city. For this purpose, using the Masters Gilbert physical relations and relationships, the radiation received on the surface of the panel is calculated. The results of ...
full textPredictions of Surface Solar Radiation on Tilted Solar Panels using Machine Learning Models: A Case Study of Tainan City, Taiwan
In this paper, forecasting models were constructed to estimate surface solar radiation on an hourly basis and the solar irradiance received by solar panels at different tilt angles, to enhance the capability of photovoltaic systems by estimating the amount of electricity they generate, thereby improving the reliability of the power they supply. The study site was Tainan in southern Taiwan, whic...
full textInfluence of Reflectivity and Cloud Cover on the Optimal Tilt Angle of Solar Panels
Determining the optimum angle for a solar panel is important if tracking systems are not used and a tilt angle remains constant. This article determines the sensitivity of the optimum angle to surface reflectivity at different latitudes using a mathematical model that accounts for direct, diffuse and reflected radiation. A quadratic correlation is also developed to compute the optimal angle and...
