Abstract:

Nowadays using of new energies in the form of dispersed resources in the worlds is wide spreading. In this article we will design a dispersed production source in the form of a solar/wind hybrid power plant in order to supply the energy of a residential unit according to a sample load pattern. The aim of aforementioned design is to reduce its costs in a period of 20 years. In order to optimize system costs we will use a new algorithm which is based on collective intelligence namely gravitational search algorithm and also we will use particle swarm optimization algorithm. At the end of the article we will present anemometry and radiation data which is collected from an area in Ardebil and Mashhad, note that these data is optimized based on our suggested algorithm. Finally we can conclude that with an appropriate design of dispersed production resources we will be able to effectively reduce costs and make renewable energy usage more economically.

Robust optimal sizing of a hybrid energy stand-alone system

This paper deals with the optimal design of a stand-alone hybrid system composed of wind turbines, solar photovoltaic panels and batteries. To compensate for a possible lack of energy from these sources, an auxiliary fuel generator guarantees to meet the demand in every case but its use induces important costs. We have chosen a two-stage robust approach to take account of the stochastic behavio...

Optimal Sizing of a Reliable Hydrogen-based Stand-alone Wind-Fuel Cell System

A hybrid wind/ fuel cell generation system is designed to supply power demand. The aim of this design is to minimize the total cost of the hybrid system over an expected 20 years of operation. The optimization problem is solved aimed at providing a reliable supply for the consumer’s demand. The system consists of fuel cells, some wind units, some electrolyzers, a reformer, an anaerobic reactor ...

Optimal sizing method for stand-alone hybrid solar–wind system with LPSP technology by using genetic algorithm

System power reliability under varying weather conditions and the corresponding system cost are the two main concerns for designing hybrid solar–wind power generation systems. This paper recommends an optimal sizing method to optimize the configurations of a hybrid solar–wind system employing battery banks. Based on a genetic algorithm (GA), which has the ability to attain the global optimum wi...
