Abstract:

All desalination methods which are currently used have limitations. A newly designed instrument by Zare A.M. was tested and compared with currently used method in Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute(RVSRI). Samples of anti snake venom for desalination was provided by department of anti-serum, RVSRI. Parameters included in this study were time and water consumption during desalination process. PH, conductivity, Total protein, potency and dry weight of samples. Results reveals that complete desalination process by our newly designed instrument consumes only 4.30 hours and 80 litters of purified water as compared to currently used method of dialysis bag with average of 120 hours of time and 1920 litters of purified water(P

Newly Designed Specula for Laryngomicroscopy

We produced specula for laryngomicroscopy to observe blind spots in the operating field. Use of these specula has facilitated detailed observation of the lower surface of the false vocal folds, laryngeal ventricle, and subglottis, which were previously in blind spots. The specula are useful in the following ways: 1) clarifying blind spots for improved diagnosis and providing more accurate surgi...

Newly designed occluder pin for presacral hemorrhage.

Conventional hemostatic measures are often unsatisfactory in presacral venous bleeding occurring during surgical mobilization of the rectum. We designed a new type of hemorrhage occluder pin, with a ridged shaft, which may be rapidly placed into the sacrum to control hemorrhage. The aims of this study were 1) to assess the best pin shaft length by measuring the thickness of human sacral vertebr...
