Necessary and Sufficient Optimality Conditions for Fuzzy Linear Programming

This paper is concerned with deriving necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a fuzzy linear programming problem. Toward this end, an equivalence between fuzzy and crisp linear programming problems is established by means of a specific ranking function. Under this setting, a main theorem gives optimality conditions which do not seem to be in conflict with the so-called Karush-Kuhn-Tu...

Sucient Optimality Conditions and Semi-Smooth Newton Methods for Optimal Control of Stationary Variational Inequalities

In this paper sufficient second order optimality conditions for optimal control problems subject to stationary variational inequalities of obstacle type are derived. Since optimality conditions for such problems always involve measures as Lagrange multipliers, which impede the use of efficient Newton type methods, a family of regularized problems is introduced. Second order sufficient optimalit...

Necessary Optimality Conditions for a Dead Oil Isotherm Optimal Control Problem

We study a system of nonlinear partial differential equations resulting from the traditional modelling of oil engineering within the framework of the mechanics of a continuous medium. Recent results on the problem provide existence, uniqueness and regularity of the optimal solution. Here we obtain the first necessary optimality conditions. Mathematics Subject Classification 2000: 49K20, 35K55.

Second-order necessary optimality conditions for a discrete optimal control problem with mixed constraints

In this paper, we study second-order necessary optimality conditions for a discrete optimal control problem with nonconvex cost functions and state-control constraints. By establishing an abstract result on second-order necessary optimality conditions for a mathematical programming problem, we derive second-order necessary optimality conditions for a discrete optimal control problem.
