NATURAL VIBRATION ANALISIS OF CLAMPED ANNULAR ISOTROPIC SECTOR SHIP HULL PLATE USING EKM

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

The natural vibrations of clamped annular isotropic sector plates are analyzed using the Extended Kantorovich Method (EKM). A conformal mapping is used to transform a sector with identified geometry to a rectangular plate which the solution is available in literature and solved by Dalaei and Kerr [1] using EKM. The developed iterative scheme converges very rapidly to the final result. The obtained natural frequencies are evaluated for annular sector plate and the obtained results are compared with those published by Leissa [6] and a simulation done by the finite element method (FEM). The agreement found to be very close. As there are no exact analytical solutions for clamped annular sector plates, the generated method for the natural modes, and the corresponding natural frequencies, are very suitable for use in engineering analysis.

Quality Factor of Free In-plane Vibration of a Fully Clamped Rectangular Micro-plate

Thermo-elastic damping is a significant dissipation mechanism in high quality factor microstructures. In this paper, thermo-elastic damping of the in-plane vibration of fully clamped rectangular micro-plates has been studied. The governing equation of the micro-plate motion and heat conduction equation were derived. Then, The Galerkin method has been used to solve the coupled heat-displacement ...

Asymptotic Formulas for Active and Reactive Mutual Power of Free Vibrations of a Clamped Annular Plate

Normalized mutual power of radiation, active and reactive, has been analyzed in this paper. The sound source is an annular plate, clamped to a planar, rigid and infinite baffle. The plate’s vibrations are axisymmetric and sinusoidal with respect to time. A Kirchhoff-Love’s model of a perfectly elastic plate has been used. First, the integral formulas for the mutual sound power have been present...

Mechanical Buckling Analysis of Composite Annular Sector Plate with Bean-Shaped Cut-Out using Three Dimensional Finite Element Method

In this paper, mechanical buckling analysis of composite annular sector plates with bean shape cut out is studied. Composite material sector plate made of Glass-Epoxy and Graphite-Epoxy with eight layers with same thickness but different fiber angles for each layer. Mechanical loading to form of uniform pressure loading in radial, environmental and biaxial directions is assumed. The method used...

Analysis of Thermal-Bending Stresses in a Simply Supported Annular Sector Plate

The present article deals with the analysis of thermal-bending stresses in a heated thin annular sector plate with simply supported boundary condition under transient temperature distribution using Berger’s approximate methods. The sectional heat supply is on the top face of the plate whereas the bottom face is kept at zero temperature. In this study, the solution of heat conduction is obtained...

Free Vibration of Annular Plate Reinforced with Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes Resting on an Elastic Foundation Using Refined Theory

In this paper, an attempt is made for solution of free vibration analysis of annular plate reinforced with carbon nanotubes for Uniformly Distribution (UD), resting on an elastic foundation using a refined theory presented. In this theory, a parabolic distribution of shear stress and strain in the thickness direction and satisfies the boundary conditions of zero shear stress on the upper and lo...
