MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION FOR e e FOR FROM 50 TO 61 GeV, C. M. ENERGIES AND COMPARISON WITH MULTIHADRON PRODUCTION IN HADRONIC INTERACTIONS

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

Average values of< 1- T >where T is the thrust are presented for e: e: AMY data and are compared with their values in hadronic interactions. As far as possible, similar analysis techniques have been employed in the two different interactions. Similar variation with E is observed for this average in both data. The values of < PT> and < PL > relative to the thrust axis in e e are similar to those in hadronic interactions. The thrust distributions at the same energies for the two different data are in rather good agreement at the higher T values. At the lower T values, however, the e e distribution shows more enhancement than that for hadronic interactions. We discuss a possible explanation for all these features.

Measurement of the total cross section for hadronic production by e(+)e(-) annihilation at energies between 2.6-5 GeV

Using the upgraded Beijing Spectrometer, we have measured the total cross section for e(+)e(-) annihilation into hadronic final states at center-of-mass energies of 2.6, 3.2, 3.4, 3.55, 4.6, and 5.0 GeV. Values of R, sigma(e(+)e(-)-->hadrons)/sigma(e(+)e(-)-->&mgr;(+)&mgr;(-)), are determined.

e+e− production from pp reactions at BEVALAC energies

We have performed a detailed study of dilepton production from pp collisions including the subthreshold ρ production via baryonic resonances (N(1520), N(1700)) in addition to the conventional dilepton sources as π0, η, ω and ∆ Dalitz decays and direct decays of vector mesons (ρ, ω). The role of baryonic resonances in ρ production from nucleon-nucleon collisions is studied in comparison to the D...

Inclusive lepton production in e+e- annihilation at 29 GeV.

We use data taken by the Mark II detector at the PEP storage ring to study inclusive lepton production in e+eannihilation at 29 GeV. From fits to the inclusive lepton momentum and transverse momentum spectra we measure the semileptonic branching ratios for charm and bottom hadrons. We also determine with good precision the mean value of the bottom fragmentation function using both electron and ...

e+e- production in NN collisions at 1.25 GeV

Di-electron production in N+N collisions at Ekin < 5 GeV/u was studied previously by the DLS collaboration [1] and have been available for about 10 years, although with limited statistics and mass resolution. Microscopic transport calculation, hovewer, never succeeded to explain the experimental data satisfactory until a strong bremsstrahlung contribution in n+p interactions has been recently p...
