Abstract:

Nowadays, with extending applications of bi-layer metallic sheets in different industrial sectors, accurate specification of each layer is very prominent to achieve desired properties. In order to predict behavior of sheets under different forming modes and determining rupture limit and necking, the concept of Forming Limit Diagram (FLD) is used. Optimization problem with objective functions and important parameters aims to find optimal thickness for each of Al3105-St14 bi-layer metallic sheet contributors. Optimized point is achieved where formability of the sheet approaches to maximum extent and its weight to minimum extent. In this paper, multi-objective Tabu search algorithm is employed to optimize the considered problem. Finally, derived Pareto front using Tabu search algorithm is presented and results are compared with the solutions obtained from genetic algorithm. Comparison revealed that Tabu search algorithm provides better results than genetic algorithm in terms of Mean Ideal Distance, Spacing, non-uniformity of Pareto front and CPU time.

Theoretical, Numerical and Experimental Investigation on Formability of Al3105-St14 Two-Layer Sheet

Two-layer metallic sheets have wide applications in various industries due to their superlative characteristics. This paper presents analytical model to investigate the formability of two-layer sheets based on Marciniak and Kuckzinsky (M-K) method using Barlat and Lian non-quadratic yield criterion. FEM simulation is also performed to calculate the forming limits based on bifurcation theory. Fo...

APPLICATION OF TABU SEARCH FOR SOLVING THE BI-OBJECTIVE WAREHOUSE PROBLEM IN A FUZZY ENVIRONMENT

The bi-objective warehouse problem in a crisp environment is often not eective in dealing with the imprecision or vagueness in the values of the problem parameters. To deal with such situations, several researchers have proposed that the parameters be represented as fuzzy numbers. We describe a new algorithm for fuzzy bi-objective warehouse problem using a ranking function followed by an applic...

Probabilistic Power Distribution Planning Using Multi-Objective Harmony Search Algorithm

In this paper, power distribution planning (PDP) considering distributed generators (DGs) is investigated as a dynamic multi-objective optimization problem. Moreover, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is applied to handle the uncertainty in electricity price and load demand. In the proposed model, investment and operation costs, losses and purchased power from the main grid are incorporated in the f...

Multi-objective process design in multi-purpose batch plants using a Tabu Search optimization algorithm

Chemical batch processes are typically used for the production of speciality chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Due to the still growing importance of this type of processing, design methods are required that take into account the special requirements and constraints in the corresponding production facilities. We developed a method that optimizes the design of a single chemical process to be implem...

A Tabu Search Method for a New Bi-Objective Open Shop Scheduling Problem by a Fuzzy Multi-Objective Decision Making Approach (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper proposes a novel, bi-objective mixed-integer mathematical programming for an open shop scheduling problem (OSSP) that minimizes the mean tardiness and the mean completion time. To obtain the efficient (Pareto-optimal) solutions, a fuzzy multi-objective decision making (fuzzy MODM) approach is applied. By the use of this approach, the related auxiliary single objective formulation can...
