Abstract:

Allocation of measurement devices is a necessity of distribution system which is an application of state estimation. In this paper, the problem of active and reactive measurement devices is modeling using a multi-objective method. The objectives of the problem are to minimize the use of measurement devices, increase in state estimation output, improve the state estimation quality and reduce costs. The costs are calculated based on line loss, line capacity, lines connected to the specific line and the change in line flow direction. The Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm based on Decomposition (MOEA/D) is used to optimize the measurement devices allocation within the problem of distribution system state estimation. The simulation and optimization is tested on IEEE 33-busand IEEE 123-bus radial networks and state estimation problem is optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to develop some conditions for network to guarantee the robustness of the proposed method.

A Multi-objective Approach to Optimal Allocation of Distribution Automation Devices in Radial Medium Voltage Network

In this paper a method for selection of optimal scenario for distribution automation is proposed. For a part of distribution network that can be considered as the smallest functional unit, the service zones are determined based on the heuristic rules, all possible automation scenarios are searched, and the values of selected objective functions are determined. After that, the method uses fuzzy ...

Optimal Multi-Objective Planning of Distribution System with Distributed Generation

This paper presents a multi-objective formulation for optimal siting and sizing of distributed generation (DG) resources in distribution systems in order to minimize the cost of power losses and energy not supplied. The implemented technique is based on a genetic algorithm (GA) and weight method that employed to obtain the best compromise between these costs. Simulation results on 33-bus distri...

Probabilistic Power Distribution Planning Using Multi-Objective Harmony Search Algorithm

In this paper, power distribution planning (PDP) considering distributed generators (DGs) is investigated as a dynamic multi-objective optimization problem. Moreover, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is applied to handle the uncertainty in electricity price and load demand. In the proposed model, investment and operation costs, losses and purchased power from the main grid are incorporated in the f...
