Modified Kremser Equation for Plate Type Gas Absorberin Non-Isothermal Operation (RESEARCH NOTE).

author

Abstract:

For non-isothermal operation in plate type gas absorber, the temperature changes and number of ideal trays can be determined with recourse to graphical method. In this paper there is an analysis illustrating that a Modified Kremser Equation can be used for plate type gas absorber in non-isothermal operation.

Numerical Modeling of Mold Filling and Curing in Non-Isothermal RTM Process (RESEARCH NOTE)

Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) is a composite manufacturing process. A preformed fiber is placed in a closed mold and a viscous resin is injected into the mold. In this paper, a model is developed to predict the flow pattern, extent of reaction and temperature change during filling and curing in a thin rectangular mold. A numerical simulation is presented to predict the free surface and its inter...

Damped Vibrations of Parabolic Tapered Non-homogeneous Infinite Rectangular Plate Resting on Elastic Foundation (RESEARCH NOTE)

In the present paper damped vibrations of non-homogeneous infinite rectangular plate of parabolically varying thickness resting on elastic foundation has been studied. Following Lévy approach, the equation of motion of plate of varying thickness in one direction is solved by quintic spline method. The effect of damping, elastic foundation and taperness is discussed with permissible range of pa...

Mathematical Model for Separation of Submicron Particles from Gas Stream in a Conduit Type Scrubber (RESEARCH NOTE).

A mathematical model has been developed for the prediction of the collection efficiency of submicron particles in the conduit type scrubber. The model has been tested with the data in the literature [1,3].

Axisymmetric finite element solution of non-isothermal parallel-plate flow

Steady non-isothermal parallel-plate flow of a Newtonian fluid with a temperature dependent viscosity is considered. The viscosity is modelled by a Nahme type law. We apply axisymmetric Q finite elements to the coupled nonlinear system to obtain numerical solutions for a wide range of parameters.

A RESEARCH NOTE ON THE SECOND ORDER DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION

Let U(t, ) be solution of the Dirichlet problem y''+( t-q(t))y= 0 - 1 t l y(-l)= 0 = y(x), with variabIe t on (-1, x), for fixed x, which satisfies the initial condition U(-1, )=0 , (-1, )=1. In this paper, the asymptotic representation of the corresponding eigenfunctions of the eigen values has been investigated . Furthermore, the leading term of the asymptotic formula for ...

Moditication Factor for Sizing Equation of Electrical Machines-Single and Three Phase Induction Motors(RESEARCH NOTE)

Comparison between the results from the design procedure based upon the value of D2L (volume of iron) and IEC standard used by manufacturers indicates that the basic design equation of electrical machines must be modified by a proper modification factor. This modification factor is evaluated for single- and three-phase induction motors and its variation with motor rating and poles number is obt...
